I paid over $3.15 a gallon at Maimi Beach Marina in May. 48 bucks for a few hours in a rental sea ray I/O. Think it was 2.60 or so on VA key.

$3 is not the end.... wait until these overseas folks get done spending their money. The monopoly effect is coming quick...... I would bet that we will see $5 - 6 before too long. Anyone have any good names for a horse?

Oh stop it my slightly left of center friend......the war wasn't intended to decrease China's demand for oil. What this trend suggests is that we are going to see an increase in the exploration and exploitation of our natural resources in the near term. We can solve the problem by simply attacking and overtaking Saudi Arabia and a few South American countries...what do you think?

those kind of prices will kill the boating, rv and travel industry, expect to see lots of people getting laid off. only the rich will be able to afford boats. there will be alot of people down sizing, i'm just glad i got my 130 boston whaler with a 40hp2s we can wakeboard, fish and it dose'nt burn much fuel. it is also easy to tow and does'nt cost much to tow. i guess u can say it is my honda civic for boating.

I believe the correct phrase is "Let's Roll". You'll never convince the other team that Iraq wasn't about oil. But, hypothetically speaking, would it be so bad if say a large oil exporting country in need of saving could provide a healthy discount to a large oil importing country that was willing to save it ?

I like the China theory. But wait, aren't they COMMUNISTS??? Where are they getting all that money to buy oil? Bloody Marxists!! So you've gotta explain to me why its fine and dandy to trade with Red China, but absolutely horrible to trade with Cuba. Time for folks in DC to start practicing anal-encephalo extrication.

And i'm not worried about the high prices for oil; i'm sure W and all his buddies are going to come up with a dandy solution to help us all out.

You sneaky bastard.......trying to end this debate by being reasonable......that is an absolute violation of THT rules. I will report this thread to the proper authorities for their consideration. Stay tuned.....

Maybe the service stations are changing all the "tenths of a cent" to "3", instead of "9" to make us feel better when they change the "$" to "4" or "5"? ;?

The "cheapo" station up the street just went to $2.29 (from $2.19 the day before!) for "87" two days ago - the HIGHEST I've EVER seen it at this particular station - including LAST year!

Regards,

I've got a proposal to make.....it reads as follows

In the interest of public safety, gas prices for boaters should be kept at 1.50 or below. This is due to the fact that the activity of boating is critical to maintaining the sanity of boaters. If boaters can't afford to pay for fuel to go boating, they will no long be sane, and may resort to mass murder, being mean to puppies, and generally being bastards.
