And they talk about NJ

http://homes.yahoo.com/news/the-most...161944577.html

Not even in the top 5.

OldPete 10-24-2013 02:31 PM

LOL. I would take any of those States over NJ. LOL.

08087 10-24-2013 04:23 PM

Pete aren't you banned from discussing NJ related posts? J/J, LOL

I know it's always pockets of crime that drive the numbers, like Newark or Camden vs. Barneget or Little egg.

Dookieshoot 10-24-2013 04:28 PM

You can keep all your felonious statistics, New Jersey still sucks ass.

It's not a list of highest a holes per capita....;)

keithelder 10-25-2013 04:29 AM

The problem with Memphis is it is the Detroit of the South.

LOL. That's pretty funny... I wouldn't mind visiting MA -- Boston is a great place to visit with some really good chow.

NJ -- well, as I told my wife -- if you want to go to Maine one day, let me know because if we drive I'm driving around NJ and if we fly I need to have a word with the pilot about flying around it.

Recent report had Camden as #2 on the worst city list. Trenton and Newark are in the top 15 most of the time...

So the state may not be the worst, but when you are bad - yer darn good at it.

Hey, no rose colored glasses here, I know where the hell to stay away from in NJ, go to the ironbound section for greatSpanish and Portuges food and your also safe, any other part of the city your on your own.

Camden I only know enough about is to stay away. However any city that has a MLK blvd is a safe bet you don't want to be there.

Old Pete, you know there are some damned great places in Jersey, oyur just affraid to come back cause your picture is on every troopers screen and they're looking for you just because.

slickster 10-25-2013 12:08 PM

The problem with the article is that it qualifies high crime communities as whole "states"....Memphis over Newark or NYC or Watts or Chicago or Oakland?...not a chance...typical "news" dude sitting in some office somewhere with a computer making up crap...

It's listed as per capita crime if I'm not mistaken, that brings total crime in that state into play, and per capita those places are worse per the story line.

Have to disagree, my wife works in WNY, NJ and we often are in the area to eat or shop on Bergenline ave. never a problem.

Been a while since I've had to go up there, so maybe it's improved. But I've had my car stolen from there twice while working.

TV2EBoogaloo 10-25-2013 01:27 PM

I think the main reason that "crime rates" are down is the police and prosecutors and legislators have done a great job of reclassifying crimes into categories that they can call non-violent

instead of attempted murder there is now assault with an item that is not really a weapon (even though the victim was beat half to death with the BBQ grill lid and would have been beat to death if the perps had the chance)

but now that can be plead down to "did not give someone a hug when they ask for it" and they can pay a $200 dollar fine that will never get paid and court cost and "time served" and it is now no longer a violent crime

or rape is now "did not ask her if she wanted to have sex before having sex with her while she was in bed in her home that was accidentally entered by accident and mistaken for the perps own home and girlfriend"

and that can be plead down to did not kiss her while having sex with her even though she did not know him and did not want to have sex with him and he was accidentally in her house where he did not belong and that is not a violent crime that is a crime of not enough passion so a $300 dollar fine that will never be paid and court cost and time served

Twice! What do you do leave your trunk open with it full of tools? My wife works and parks along 56/57th street every day for 10 years and never had a problem in the least.

Sorry for the laugh but your unlucky or doing something wrong, from me to you I'm real sorry about that, how'd you get home and did they ever find your rides? What kind of cars were they?
Must have been those out of state plates.

OldPete 10-25-2013 03:19 PM

WNY is pretty good -- and has been since the 70's. Very corrupt, as is just about all of Hudson County. You're playing on my old turf now. LOL.

Umm.....WNY is the Buffalo area, otherwise known as the good part of NY!

And Pete, please stop telling all the Garden State folks how much better it is down here! Next thing ya know we'll end up with a whole clan of people just like you down here!
