Wife is doing her first Tough Mudder tomorrow. Anyone else's wives do it? How did it go?

To me simply stupid money making business. Does one really need to pay $100+ to run obstacle course with a crowd of watabees, oh but then we need to buy the stupid headbands, t-shirts, etc. I had many friends ask (a few even did it , once). I tell them lets go I know places we can run, climb, get dirty for free that will kill you if you want and it's FREE...

Guess it's a little late now but I did the Sarasota Tough Mudder last December with 2 friends and their wives, and another wife whose husband couldn't make it. My fiance wanted no part of it at the time, but I got her to run a Warrior Dash with me in February and we're running the Savage Race with both of my parents a week from today.

My Tough Mudder went well for all of us. I rolled my ankle in a "pothole" on an otherwise flat field which slowed me down for the second half but we all finished and had an incredible time. The girls seemed to enjoy it just as much as the guys and we were all able to conquer every obstacle except I skipped the 12 foot walls because I didn't want to jump down on my ankle. I guess ladams1 would disagree, but they're a ton of fun and well worth the price of admission as far as I'm concerned. It's honestly a struggle for me to run 1 mile on the road or on a treadmill because I just get beyond bored, but the obstacles break things up and keep it interesting.

Actually, I think it cost $200 (this is NY/NJ).

My g/f does a few of them. She just did mud endeavour last weekend, was a pretty serious course with elevation changes. The first one she ever did was "Run for your lives" which was a zombie run and ppl done up like zombies chase at you in certain zones and get your flags from your belt.

Last weekend that was quite a few people in the 60+ age group that completed the course. The mens record was about 30 minutes, my g/f took 2 hours.

Thanks. She started running last year and did a half marathon. Then she trained all summer for the Mudder.

Well she's done, I don't know the details yet, but it seems like she is very happy she did it. I am very curious about how she did on the various obstacles, sounds like you guys did great.

I prefer the Spartan races. It is individual race not a team race. You are running against the clock and get ranked overall and in your age/gender group.
