Default email help please

Guys I have Road Runner ISP in Wisconsin, they also do my main email. I use Windows Live Mail. The trouble I am having is when I come down to Florida I can not send emails, I can receive them fine. I am on Comcast at my Florida home. I have tried everything I can think of, I just tried changing my out going SMTP from the default port 25 to 587. I still cant send. I even tried deleting my email account and starting over with the new setting, no luck. I really don't want to have a new email address, I just want my established email to work, Any ideas?

Yes they do, I have tried that. I still does not work. I went right to RR website, signed in to my email, all the emails come in, but when I try to respond it will not. It also will not show up in sent mail, and also does not give any indicator that it did not go through.

Yeesh, sounds like a phone call is in order.

The problem is on their end.

When you change from 25 to 587 you also need to enable "authentication". You can find it under "servers" after entering e-mail properties for your account.

EDIT:

On another note, ditch using an e-mail from your ISP. Use GMAIL or outlook.com. I work tech support for an ISP and work with e-mail all day long. If you leave your ISP for another they will deactivate your e-mail, they also have stupid issues like this. Forward your roadrunner e-mail to your new account and inform all your contacts of the new address. It's not easy but it is easier than losing your e-mails

I had a similar issue years ago and it was a router issue. I don't remember exactly what the cause was, something to do with the router not recognizing authentication on a certain port.

Since then I have started using Godaddy just for email hosting. I can change ISPs without having to change all our email addresses. Hotmail/Live or yahoo is a simple answer too. I don't care for the new gmail interface.

Another vote for Gmail.

Make the switch to Gmail... it sucks at first trying to notify all of your contacts, but you can set up forwarding and you'll eventually make the transition.

The benefits of switching far outweigh the negatives. I know there are a fair share of Google haters out there, but I couldn't be happier with my Google/Gmail/Android setup.
