Default Important Coversation in the bilge

It appears to be rather civil and factual if you can believe that, but the mod's bilged it anyway. I know you guys don't all check the bilge but this is one about obamacare and it's real world results, might want to look at it.

There is no way SOME of the people here could discuss Obamacare (or anything else for that matter) without voicing their political opinion, be it factual, fictional, theoretical, or unknowledgeable.

It would be impossible. Socialized medicine is a tough pill to swallow for those of us that have been personally responsible our entire lives.

Obamacare is political. It has very little to do with healthcare which you can see from reading some of the experiences given by people who have went on the website to sign up.
Give the thread a chance. It's pretty enlightening as to what is really driving this thing.

We are well and truly giving away the farm on this one. FUBAR'd in other words and I would wager a large majority of the general population has no clue what's inside this bill or what rights they are giving up.

Hence the move to the bilge.

Hopefully everyone will keep politics out of this one so it does not move as well.

No, I might not.

I'm really tired of these shenanigans by our elected officials and their commandeering of a major portion of our economy.

If I wanted to see more about OCare I wouldn't be looking for amusement and entertainment on a boating board.

It's really too bad SOME members just can't help themselves. I'm sure there are many members here who could benefit significantly from coverage being available.

For example, I have a friend who is separated from her husband. The only reason she is still married is that she is covered through his health plan. She has pre-existing conditions that prevent her from getting individual coverage. In her situation, going without coverage is taking too much risk. While it may not be ideal, the exchanges offer an option.

Another example, I own a small business with only 2 employees (my wife and myself). We have had a small business policy forever because in FL they can not exclude from these policies. My wife has been uninsurable on an individual policy for the past 4 years or so. Being able to obtain a policy in the individual market could save us real $$. The thing is that her annual health costs aren't that high, but because she takes a specific medication no company will take her.

There are a lot of details still to be learned about the premiums, benefits and physicians. None of this has anything to do with politics.
