"IONIA, MICH. — Two drivers are dead after a road rage incident escalated into a shootout.

Witnesses said one driver was following another driver too closely on Michigan 66. The first driver pulled into the Wonder Wand Car Wash parking lot and the other driver followed him into the lot around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Witnesses said the driver of the following car fired shots, and the first driver returned fire. Both drivers were killed. Authorities say both men had licenses to carry concealed weapons.
The victims are both from Ionia. Robert Taylor, 56, was driving a Chrysler PT Cruiser. The other driver, James Pullum, 43, was driving a Ford Taurus. According to police, Pullum had two passengers in his vehicle, but neither was injured."

two passengers in one of the cars? My guess is that the first driver's family will sue the estate of the following driver and prevail.

Seems that he was following too close. Seems that he turned off the highway in order to confront the first car's driver. Seems that he fired his gun first.

Wrongful death, IMO.

Exactly why I never applied for a CCW and never carry in my truck... even though in your car is perfectly legal here even w/o a CCW. Not as bad now but used to suffer from semi-frequent episodes of road-rage! Face it. There are a crap-load of people that shouldn't have a car let alone be able to drive it.

If the driver of the first car had not been carrying, and returned fire, he'd be the only one dead.

Not strictly true. We can't know that. He may not have stopped.

I get your point though.

RICHMOND, Ky. — An Indiana doctor who had ties to Anderson and who was allegedly caught on video pointing a gun at a motorist and firing is facing a wanton endangerment charge in Kentucky.

Dr. Perrin Dobyns, 51, pleaded not guilty Wednesday during an appearance in Madison County District Court.

WKYT-TV in Lexington reported Dobyns was arrested at his office at the Branchville Correctional Facility in southwestern Indiana on Monday, the day after the incident on Interstate 75. The station reported that Dobyns was the prison's physician.

he incident was captured on video by David Kollar. Kollar says he noticed a motorist driving erratically and pulled out his phone camera. The video shows a man in a black car pointing a gun in Kollar's direction.

Kollar was not hurt. He called police and sent them the video when he returned home.

Kentucky state police said Dobyns had a former address in Madison County, Ind. He worked a short time at the Madison County Health Center and had previous troubles with drug and alcohol misuse.

While practicing medicine in North Carolina, Dobyns entered into an agreement with that state's medical board in 2007 due to his misuse of drugs including controlled substances. In 2002, Dobyns had been admitted to a hospital due to abuse of alcohol and narcotics, according to documents with the U.S. Department of Justice.

Story reads like the victim pulled into a car wash and was fired upon by the car following him, he drew his gun and returned fire like anyone being shot at would do. To bad he was killed as well.
