I am guessing they mean daily. I could make that lunch and supper for a 5 day work week.

I think after a certain point it just becomes mental, kinda like they just throw in the towel.

Sad story.
I'm not sure if that's the same guy or not. I am pretty sure this was the show I was watching.

As ill as the 600 pounder is, there is probably cca mentally-ill enabler feeding, bathing, and ass-wiping the fat guy. They probably have to be treated as a family unit in order to have him lose weight.

I've seen a few of these shows. its usually a mother thats feeding them.
I believe at some point it does become like any other addiction.like booze, gambling, drugs,Etc...none of these people are going to get better without professional help.
Very difficult,if not impossible to do on their own.

It really is unreal. At 600lbs your talking huge. Just as bad is the number of people that are 40 lbs+ that are overweight. It is just the American overindulgence life style and lack of personal responsibility (or even responsibility of a society).

Contributing factors are portion sizes are just huge now
Genetically engineered foods screw with people's metabolism
People accepting being fat as something we should be compassionate about. I may be mean, but last night there was a fat person on TV, and my son said something about the woman not being able to do something, and I said she was fat. Wife yelled at me saying we shouldn't talk like that because my kids will have weight issues. I talk about it so they. Won't have weight issues.

Back in January the doc told me to watch what I eat as the chloresterol was a little high.

I was 235 pounds at that time, 6 ft 2 inches tall.

So in three months I went down to 185 pounds.

Simple. Stopped eating candy bars and drinking sodas, cut out all cakes, pies, cookies. Quit eating eggs. No white bread or baked goods. Cut way back on red meat. Started eating more veggies and fruits. Fish and chicken are on the menu a lot. (Yea! More reason to go fishing!)

So, I feel a lot better now and chloresterol is down to nothing.

One thing this has done is make me more aware of the obese as mentioned in this thread. Especially when I am shopping in the grocery store. I notice jabba the hut in the electric powered shopping cart and look at what he is buying. No wonder they are obese!! You are what you eat folks. Not only in the type of food but in the amount. Jesus, some of the folks cannot even walk from the parking lot into the store!

OMG there is a show on right now on TLC of a guy that weighs 1,050lbs! He hasn't had a bath in over 4 years!! He lays in his own shit & piss! It has to be one of the most disgusting things I've ever seen.

He eats in one setting what a normal person would eat in 2 weeks. Plus he drinks
at least 24 beers per day.

He won't reveal who has been supplying his food and beer, totally sickening.

Why he eats 30 pounds of food a day, and why you watch more than 30 seconds of one of those shows, may have similar answers.

It makes me feel better about myself! Actually I'm a channel flipper and have only seen bit & pieces. It's so disgusting that I can't watch more than a couple minutes at a time!

Man, I go into Corpus with the wife shopping. I think Corpus Christi was voted the fattest city in the country a couple of years back. I got to believe they still hold that title. There are the fattest people I've ever saw and they are everywhere. Whole families getting out of cars and everyone of them as fat as the other. Diabetes runs rampant and there's a dialysis center on every corner. I'm just amazed at what these people can eat.

Ditto...but I'd lower it to 25lbs over weight for a guy at 6ft and 15lbs for a girl at 5ft 7".

Its the same enablers that drive their children to get drugs because they cant stand to see their child sick.

I had a close friend who became a heroin junkie. He lived at home with no job and his mother would drive him to the dealer, give him money for drugs, and let him shoot up in the car. She thought that if he had a safe place to shoot up and clean needles, that he wouldnt get into as much trouble as other users. This was the same mother who hosted keg parties for him in high school so he wouldnt drink and drive.

Food is a drug just like heroin. The effects on the brain when someone is a food addict is the same as when someone is a drug addict.

My question is

How many of you here talking crap about fat people have a fat wife or fat kids of your own.

Not saying that any one in particular does but the intardweb can be a good thing to hide behind.

I grew up in a house with obese parents and siblings. I was over weight until I was 18 and discovered that girls didnt like fat guys and I couldnt get in the military. I dropped 80 lbs, enlisted and started dating.

I have fought bad habits and weight issues my whole life. I workout daily and eat as heathy as I can. As of today I'm 5'10" 275lb with 21% body fat. Im trying to get to 230 and shed some of the muscle and beer belly.

My wife is a sub 3 hour marathoner and a running coach.
One daughter is a BJJ champion and cross country star at her school. At age 9 she runs a 19 min 5 k.
The other has significant special needs but is active in Special Olympics on a weekly basis and accompanies my wife to the gym every day for her workouts.

Theres a huge difference between being fat, 20-50lbs overweight, and being morbidly house ridden obese. I am seldom critical of people who are overweight and need to lose some weight. But when you can't leave your house or bathe, then you need to eat a bullet.

It is a disease...........it is a disease of the mind. You can't tell me that if you put him on a diet he would not loose weight. Cut the fat and cut the carbs and cut the volume and good things will happen. The house wife with a fat ase and a fat husband and fat kids is at least partially at fault if not 100% at fault. If she knew how to pick foods and was motivated to do so she would in a year have a skinny ase, a skinny husband and skinny kids. The problem is she does not know, is not motivated and it is so very, very difficult to buy healthy in groceries and places to eat. In the end most of our health problems are a result of diet and exercise or the lack thereof.........That is a big, big problem in America today......

Agreed. Most of our healthcare money is spent on fatties.
