Default Outdoor TV/Options

Just wandering if they are worth the extra expense? Looking to install a TV in an outdoor area thats covered. I live in a humid climate, VA. Or could I just get a normal TV? How is the picture on these " outdoor TV's" vs a nice regular unit? I'm leaning towards buying a nice used "indoor" unit and experimenting. Any suggestions?

I put a 42" cheapo outside under a covered patio and it's fine has been fo a year now.. I did get a wifi unit so I could stream netflix ... Old buddy of mine use to work for a company that made regular TV's outdoor proof ... My understanding they didn't do much .. Sprayed the boards and changed the nameplates and charged big bucks to do it...
