Default Range Rover vs. Motorcycle - relaxing Sunday drive

Looks like a fun afternoon! Guy has his wife and 2 yr old...I would have been running over bikes also. Guess you don't see what happened at the begining, but some crazy shit.

That's why you need 15 round clips..... A couple of them.

That approach would not have ended well for the SUV driver and his family. Are you of the mind that none of those bikers were packing?

I don't care what happened before the video started...once the bikers forced the SUV to stop on the freeway it was over. I would have felt that my life, and more importantly the lives of my family, was being threatened. That very sentiment would have been told to the 911 dispatcher over and over...I fear for my life and for the lives of my family members...over and over.

Keep driving and don't let them stop me again. AWD and a heavy right foot should take care of any offenders until the blue lights show up. And remember, reverse works as well...this is where the driver in the video messed up...he boxed himself in and didn't hit reverse. Hesitation can get you killed...

So, I have been reading the news as has unfolded on this incident. I'm unsure of the details as the second injured biker is not described well in the reports..
A biker abruptly stopped in front of the RR to make a traffic break for his group and was accidently rear ended, then the group went in mob mode, then another bike tried to get in the way to block the RR in and the RR driver ran over him?

I love the socioeconomic angle the victim's families are taking- like all RR's aim for innocent god-fearing people with tattoos.. Reminds me of the anti-gun bozos claiming that guns jump out and shoot people by themselves. What a joke, I feel bad for the RR owner- that guy was put in a bad spot from the get go.

I cannot even believe police officials are contimplating charging the driver of the RR!

I heard the commissioner or similar official on TV last night when questioned about the RR driver injuring some of the bikers in an effort to escapse, that you need to use common sense and flee situations like that without hurting anyone! What f'n planet are these people from?!

What is most troubling is what was posted in the NY Post today (see below).
Apparently these rogue motorcycle gangs shut down NYC roads on a somewhat regular basis, and the NYPD has a standing order not to interfere. WTF - is this Mexico where cartels and gangs run the show???

They’re hell on wheels — and NYPD cops won’t touch them.
The department has ordered cops not to chase after large biker groups like the one that beat a driver near the West Side Highway because of the risk that innocent bystanders or the riders will be killed, law-enforcement sources told The Post.
“The people who are doing this aren’t stopping when police try to pull them over,” one source said, noting that the bikers can simply jump sidewalks and mow down pedestrians to flee cops.
The department also doesn’t have the manpower to police the rogue riders, who get together for pop-up outings and often use unregistered bikes.
They typically belong to motorcycle clubs that loosely organize rides up to several times a week in the summer in Manhattan.
They’re loud and can be reckless, but they are not usually involved in beating people up, one source noted.
The riders usually brag about their tricks by posting footage online.
“You go on YouTube, you could see dozens of [these rides] all along the West Side Highway, the Major Deegan, even one time in Times Square,’’ a law-enforcement source said.

The NYPD has more-or-less endorsed the actions of these bikers. It was a ticking time bomb and it was only a matter of time before the bomb went off. I am sure it wasn't the first time these guys have been involved in altercations and or vandalism either.

Seems they did better this year

2nd arrest in NYC bikers' alleged road rage assault
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-...A+Parenting%29

"This is a major stunt event where motorcyclists from various locations come together. Their ultimate goal is to get into Times Square, which they did last year," Kelly said. "Quite frankly, it wasn't on anybody's radar screen last year. We were aware of it this year."

To try to keep group from heading into Midtown Manhattan this year, police set up checkpoints throughout the city.

Kelly said during that effort,
15 arrests were made,
68 summonses were issues and
55 motorcycles were confiscated
.

The NYC Police force, all 44,000 officers of it, have hundreds if not thousands of cameras throughout the city in addition to their physical presence - and no one saw these guys on the West Side Highway?
