Exclamation Larry Dahlberg at TackleDirect!

Big stuff going on at TackleDirect this weekend... the 21st & 22.

First of all, maybe the most accomplished angler in the world (and a sincerely nice guy) Larry Dahlberg is going to be at the showroom for two days to celebrate the Grand Opening of the Shimano Tech Center and G. Loomis Performance Center. There are only three of these centers in the entire country!

Larry is going to be available both days at the showroom to talk one-on-one with folks that come by on his favorite subject... lures (he is a legit lure-aholic), gear and catching big fish, and also has two seminars scheduled each day in the new TackleDirect Anglers Meeting Center.

Also, the Shimano Service team willl be there with their boat and trailer doing casting demonstrations, gear breakdowns, and some impressive give aways....

Here is a link to the details.... http://www.tackledirect.com/upcoming...kledirect.html

if you are not fishing both days next weekend, you should totally mark this down as a "must go"!

Wow... I'm going to say that Larry is about the most well known TV angler...ever. The Hunt for Big Fish has been on for over 20 years, and the "shorts" he did on ESPN were always super informative and instructional.

Aside from all that, he is about the nicest guy in the industry... known affectionatly as the "Mad Professor" he has been a pioneer in creating some of the most lifelike plastics, has flys named after him that he has created from the flyfishing world, and has field tested and destroyed more fishing tackle than just about anybody.

I'm not suggesting you hop a flight from Florida, but if you are anywhere in the Northeast this weekend, a couple hours with Larry is certainly worth the trip!

Never heard of him. I think Bill Dance or Roland Martin are probably the most well known TV anglers.

He was part of the original In-Fisherman staff back in the day. Met him at a professional walleye tour weigh in at Put-In-Bay (South Bass Island) several years ago. I just started talking to him about walleye fishing and he was definitely a good guy.

You guys should make some effort to get out of your backyard sometime, Bill Dance, Roland Martin will never accomplish a 1/3 of what Larry Dahlberg as.

He's one guy I can stand on TV. He used to frequent one of the tackle shops back home in MN. Down to earth guy.

Yup - I've watched Bill Dance going back at least 30 yrs. Behind these two, there's Jose Wejebe - RIP. Larry is a distant 4th on the popularity poll.

I was actually kidding. Never heard of him either. Does that make me less of a fisherman? If he came to my backyard, I'd offer him a beer. Maybe we spend more time fishing and less time watching TV.

Hunt for big fish is one of the only fishing shoes I can tolerate. Although I did see a chick catch a bonito on playboy then get railed.
