Default Cl scam!

BEWARE OF RICHARD JOHNSON!
Dick Johnson, should've known. I put my 18' cc on CL this afternoon and got an email back within the first few hrs. After a few emails, this is what he sends me:

[/I]Thanks for your mail.i will appreciate more pictures..I am ready to buy it now for my son as a surprise promise gift,And due to the nature of my work, phone calls making and visiting of website are restricted but i squeezed out time to check this advert and send you an email regarding it. i would be glad to pay for it as soon as possible though i will not be available to come for an inspection due to my tight schedule.Kindly get back to me with the following questions below:

1) Are you the Owner?
2) Pick up Location?
3) Your PayPal Email ID to effect the payment
4)what is The final Price

I would be glad to make the payment immediately through PayPal so kindly get back to me with your PayPal ID. You need not to worry yourself about title transfer and shipment,i will instruct the shipping company to handle that therefore in order to complete the
transaction do get back to me with your PayPal ID and total cost so that I can make the payment asap. I will be waiting for your reply!

Thanks..[/I]

Obviously I'm suspisious because there was pretty much no haggling, he wants to buy sight unseen, and he wants to pay pal. So I look him up and this is what I find:
https://www.paypal-community.com/t5/.../132084/page/3

He's sending the same thing to everybody!

Watch out for this scammer--I thought I had an easy sale!

Do i need to be worried that he has my email address? Ive changed my email and paypal passwords.

Thi9s has been going on for years. In fact, Craigslist even has a notice about this type of scam on their main page.

Ditto.....all you need is something substantial to sell and these types of responses will fill your email inbox...

Many folks won't leave an email address....just a phone number.

Here's what I do to stop all of the spambots. In your ad tell them to put "insert whatever phrase you want here". Tell them you will only respond to emails that reference that subject line. All others will be deleted unopened. I have used Gig'em Aggies, Batman Begins, To infinity and beyond, etc. Just make up something off the wall. only way to stop them.

I had a similiar experience when I sold my Scarab. The funny thing about it is I knew right away it was a scam so I strung the idiot out for several days asking questions until he finally gave up. My told him how I felt on my final email to him the lowlife, bottom feeder scum bag.
