Default What have you done lately?

Well, since there is about a billion threads that are nothing bu bitching about whatever, here's one that's not.

What is something that you have done lately, that you feel good about?

I just rebuilt the transmission in my boat. AND IT WORKS.... (well, thus far anyway )

Having never touched a tranny in my life, I feel pretty good about accomplishing that task.

This could be anything. Unless you just took a crap and that made you feel good. Leave that kind of stuff out.

Well, I started painting my place at the beach, and the front really looks good......but then the weather got better and the rest may be left for October....so, ok...I don't feel all that good about that.

I have been bored to death at my job for the past 2 years hence my post count....I pretty much have autonomy to do whatever I want here so I decided to step up and go run another troubled area, It will be a challenge, I will need to work harder, longer, travel a bit but but it will clear my head from a 2 year work funk. So I feel pretty good about that.... I start in a couple of weeks.... I am dreading telling my current staff

I'm currently domesticating 5 baby feral kittens. They are about 5-6 weeks old now, all brothers/sisters from the same litter, living in my garage. We round them up and spend time playing with them, talking to them, petting them every night. I plan on getting them their shots and am going to try to find homes for them. It's the right thing to do.

I have this uneasy feeling I've just gained 5 more cats!!

Two recent events:

(1) Making great progress on a retaining wall that I am building using those 16" concrete blocks. The wall is about 24" tall and goes around roughly half of my house. I am about 2/3 of the way done and so far it looks awesome. Capstones are going to be the real challenge.

(2) I changed the tire on a 60 year-old-ish woman's car in 92 degree heat (105 HI - muggy as hell). What made it all worthwhile was the look on her face when a 6'6", 270 lb, bald man with a goat and mirrored sunglasses pulls up on a bike with 16" apes and loud-ass pipes asking if she needs any help. She offered to pay me, but I told her that if my father found out that I took money for this he would rightfully try and whip my ass. I suggested that she do something nice for someone else instead. She said she would and I believe her.

On July 2, 2013 I was able to recover $47,732.82 for a 100 year old woman that an attorney stole from her bank accounts.

Why did you have a goat with you?

Rest of the story was good though.

I saved God and Country day in Ocala.
A 44yr tradition, 25,000 attend. They tried to cancel it a week out over insurance and funding.
I got them both.

Bell gets a bit loud at highway speeds and his horns make my back hurt, but overall he is a good passenger.

Well played my friend.
