Default I'm more important than you... MOVE!

Spent the evening after work on the water yesterday. Gave all the kids some whiplash on the tube, then did a little cruising while they changed out of their wet stuff, and into dry clothes before heading to a restaurant on the water. The place I went is also a place I frequently stop for gas before heading out. So, I pull up to the dock, between a medium size shrimp boat and a nicely appointed, small-ish aluminum flat bottom... Not a ton of extra space, but plenty for me to get in, and not worry about scuffing anybody else. I get my aft cleat tied down, and as I'm about to tie the bow off... I hear a woman's voice asking if I could move up to make room for them...

I look over my shoulder and there's a lady standing on the bow of a cabin cruiser that's somewhere around 75'. So, I'm thinking... "I don't know where you're gonna fit that thing, but I'll move on up for a nice lady.

So THEN a man (her husband??) Comes out spouting off about how he has a reservation here, and he's supposed to park right behind, "that shrimp boat, and you're not supposed to park here anyway." The deck had at the fuel dump & restaurant mumbles something about the guy being a jerk. Anyway, long story short... this jerk has two people (paying customers) move their boats so he can get where he wants to be.

No, I don't have a problem moving just to be nice. And if I'm in the wrong spot, I sure as hell want to get out of the way... Thing is, this out of town asshole is spouting about how we're not supposed to be there anyway??? I go there all the damn time. His name wasn't there, and he didn't know what the hell he was talking about. Idiot out of towner.

Apologies, but your story has no pinache at all, you need to beef it up.

At a minimum we need to hear how there was a pit bull on the other boat. The police showed up and violated your rights by searching your boat, after they shot the pit bull.

Somewhere in there you neede to pull a gun, to give it that boat ramp thread approach.

All the while, you need to tell us you actually got dinner to go and what the tipping protocol was. Follow that up with a poor customer service angle just to give it that last bit of oomph on the pinache factor.

But seriously, how does he have those two people move?

Did they have to or were they being nice or something else?

You forgot the most important part: did the OP get pics of the lady on the bow?

Should have told them the big boats here just tie up to the shrimp boats and sat at the bar and watched how that turned out.

Unless it is a fuel dock or there is a "reserved" or "members only" sign I figure it is first come first dock.
I have been to places were the boats were spaced out in a manner that takes up unnecessary dockage. I have been know to politely asked folks if they can make some room and often if I have a crew aboard will help them. I have also moved boats up/down a few cleats in order to make room when noone was around.
When I pull up to a dock that is full I see about rafting-off (always with permission) or I figure something else out.
I also have had the pleasure of dealing with some of these guys that think the world is thier dock and all others should make way. Had the lady on the 75' cabin cruiser asked me to move I would have told her NO and then asked her if she wanted to earn an easy 10 bucks.
