The cop had no choice, squirrels don't respond to tasers.

And before the usual COP bashers join in, I want to show what happened to my hand when I was attacked by a squirrel earlier this year......

I know it doesn't look bad, but it hurt like hell..............

That is the exact kind of injury that a few fingers of scotch will heal. Drink up.

BTW - how did you get bit by a squirrel?

That's no reason to conclude that the squirrel was not a threat to his life! Once that finger was disabled, self-defense capability would drop off markedly.

Growing up, a friends Dad lost the tip of his index finger to a squirrel. He shot it and put it in his game bag but was it was not dead. When he reached into his back later it bit it off at the first knuckle!

Just remember squirrels can have rabies so if you see a crazy acting squirrel it might be best to shoot it before it infects others.
That's one way rabies gets into dogs from an infected rodent vector.

I used to do quite a bit of squirrel hunting back on the farm. Those little bastards are tough! A head shot is a must.

That would have healed fast if you had soaked it in cider.

Very few squirrels live long enough to infect other critters with rabies. Once they are infected and start to slow down, they become another animal's lunch.

I would have done the same as the cop. That squirrel wasn't right. Could have been rabid.
