Looks like they were able to deploy the emergecy chutes, so maybe everyone got off. That is what I am praying for. Airplanes can be replaced.

They look pretty calm

Passenger David Eun tweeted a picture of people jumping out of the plane and wrote: "I just crash landed at SFO. Tail ripped off. Most everyone seems fine. I'm ok. Surreal..."

I noticed the damage on the seawall. I don't think any part of the plane should touch that area.

OOPS Someone said the approach attitude seemed very nose high.

There was an Outbound flight waiting on the runway as that flight was to land I am sure those pilots will have something to add as they had Front row seats......

Last reasonable idea was pilot was below the approach path and tried to abort. Hit the end of the runway and broke the landing gear and then tail off and the spun into the infield. Early reports of all escaping have not been confirmed.

He touched down a good 1/4 mile before he should have. I don't have a clue how that would breakdown on his rate of decent, could be a simple as punching in the wrong altitude for the airport but I would think that would already be in the aircrafts computer system;?

Those 777 are almost completely fly by wire.....the weather was ideal. Pilot error unless the software screwed up.

Phenomenal that some A__holes retrieved their carry on bags and took them off the plane and down the emergency ramps!

https://path.com/p/1lwrZb

What kind of arrogant/stupid moron does that?
