Leave the woman at home and go do a "Scouting Run". Never take sand to the beach.....

West coast for sure. Anywhere from Los Suenos south. Monteverde is awesome and has the biggest and best zipline in the world. Sky trek is what it's called it is amazing. When I went for 3 weeks I rented a car took the scenic route, stopping at volcano arenal first then taking the country roads to Monteverde. SUV and 4x4 needed. Spent a few days up there, it really is beautiful, then went to the north west section of the country which is beautiful and all but is way out of the way and would skip next time around. After that went down to playa hermosa which is the best surfing area and surfed and enjoyed the beach. Further south you get the national park and ocutal and it is beautiful. If your not trying to tour around go straight to hermosa area and then venture south some. You can do zip lining, waterfalls, and sky walks there. Good luck and feel free to ask any questions

Sorry Monteverde is north of lake arenal by the way reading what I posted made it sound like the west coast. It's central but if you have time to your around hit it up.

If you go to the Arenal Volcano area, check out Lost Iguana Resort. We stayed there a few years ago and really enjoyed it. It is a little outside La Fortuna but only a 15-20 minute ride. www.lostiguanaresort.com. Great views of the volcano and close to the Skytrek zip line and Hanging Bridges.
