Possibly, that's why homeowner should have

Citizens arrest when he witnessed a man committing a crime......it's legal here. Obviously you can't do that for minor crimes, 1st degree burglary is not a minor crime.

Pretty cool, however I think one well placed round from my Glock 10 mm would have been a little more appropriate
