This past week I confirmed my hunting grounds on my neighbors farms....I've got about 1,500 acres at my disposal all within 5 minutes of my backdoor and then I'll be able to group hunt this fall/ winter on several of the surrounding concessions.
Sounds like you are getting it all squared away! Enjoy the hunt this season

Gotta get black powder....another week or two in the woods. Anymore the black powder guns shoot as good as a center fire rifle...and you can pick them up fairly cheap too... Check out CVA, Traditions, etc. a great 100 yd gun can be had for less than $200.00.

They can sure do some damage. We hunt in Ga and the farmer we lease from counts on us to put them down. They have the permits but he said they are required by law to let them lay once they shoot them...is that accurate? He said thats why he tries not to do it during the summer, unless they get really bad.

not in va but yes in some states.....our permits allow processing but you have to skin and gut like a nascar pit crew...

Have you looled into a winch? My processor uses a winch with 2 metal hooks tapped into the concrete. You hook up front feet to floor, clamp back to winch cable and it pulls it right off..... I think that's how they do it at least. It takes like 30 seconds.

I guess it works! It must help you guys who slash up the carcass for meat. None antlered deer? You mean you wanted to kill female and baby deer?

Not sure if putting smilies around really takes away from what you are doing.

Lobsterboy, down here, we must kill many more does than bucks to keep the population in control. Females produce offspring, not bucks. My state wants 1,000,000 deer, so it takes killing many does to keep the population near 1,000,000. I guess that you do not understand the economics of keeping populations in check. It seems that many hunters are like you and do not understand population control, so our DNR has had to raise the number of allowable doe tags, to try to keep the populations down. We have a hard time getting hunters to kill enough does to keep the population in check.
