Default Sea tow idiot

I was out this morning in my 17 foot mako center console and ran out of gas. My gas gauge come to find out is not working correctly as I come to find out. So I call sea tow and the guy ties my boat next to his. He used two ropes one on my back starboard side and one to my front bow rail. Now I kinda knew it was a bad idea but on the other hand I don't tell construction workers building my house how to pour the concrete and since I trusted sea tow and thought maybe he knew better. So I bet you can guess what happened next, so were going along and all of a sudden my boat shifts and I see my bow rail up in the air and I lost it. This boat is my baby i also own another boat thats much nicer but i always wanted a boat since i was a kid and once i got enough money to buy one back in 2002 i did and its been babyed ever since. Needless to say after we got back to my marina he probably wished he had ear plugs. if anyone can tell me how to upload photos from a smart phone onto this site I'll be more then glad to post pictures.

Always question everything, including people pouring concrete at your house.

Why didn't you just have a fuel drop?

X2 on that one. Most of the time it is easier to ask then it is to fix.

Sound like he did you a favor by alerting you that your bow rail was defective.

He didn't run out of fuel--- you did.

no one would have had to tow you if'n you had gas.

Just think of it like when you tow someone's car... When they come to pick it up.. You grossly overcharge them... And they find a dent that wasn't there before you touched it... You deny it and send them on their way. Same same?

A tow truck came to pick up my Toyota MR2. He lifted the front wheels and reached in to put it in gear. I stopped him. He wanted to argue with me because it's a front wheel drive. I informed him that it is NOT a front wheel drive and I would rather it not be towed while in gear as I like my transmission.

He argued for a little while, saying that Toyota doesn't make any rear wheel drive cars.

MR2-Mid engine Rear wheel drive 2 seater.

Idiot. You have to right to question any service provider.

Never trust anyone when it comes to your boat.

Especially tying anything to your bow rail.

I wouldn't say I over charge people when you factor in the truck, insurance, labor, storage ect. However 45% of my business is taking peoples stuff they can't pay for it. You don't pay for it and I'll take it when you're sleeping

How can you tell by this story that the bow rail was defective? It may have held up just fine with a 300# dude hanging off of it. I suspect if you call any manufacturer and tell them your bow rail broke on your new boat while using it to tow they will laugh and hang up.
