Default I Need Some New "Loafin' Around" Shoes...

Going to have to retire my old sneakers. Simply too worn out and stinky. Will likely keep them around for mowing the lawn and trimming weeds. Looking for something comfortable that I can loaf around in. Something more substantial than flip-flops or slides. Canvas slip-ons perhaps? Curious what you guys are wearing as "go to" casual shoes.

As a person who hates tennis shoes, I can give you a couple recommendations.

1) Merrells. They make some stuff that is just amazing. I have some that look like hiking shoes that are AMAZINGLY comfortable and water proof. they have something that looks like laces but they aren't so no possibility of them coming "un done"

2) Keens...I like my Keen Sandles but they look stupid to me. They are very comfortable, not quite as comfortable as my Merells but make a great shoe when you may be getting wet or in the water. They are waterproof and dry quickly.

3) Sperry Topsiders. I love my Sperry's but I dont think they hold up all that well. If you get them, make sure you go with a leather insole, DONT get the cloth stuff. I may switch to Sebago's...I think they hold up longer.

4) If you go to a flip flop, look at Chaco's...until I found Chaco's I HATED flip flops. Great arch, great support, great materials...just awesome.

Dollar for dollar, the best I've found are the $8 canvas slip-ons from Wally world or K-Mart.

Just got a pair of boat shoes by World Wide Sportsman at the Bass Pro Shop. They are the Anchor shoe and they are really comfortable. I didn't really need to break them in at all.

These shoes were obviously happy about the recent DOMA ruling.

When my son showed up with Sanuks on I thought he was going to tell me he was coming out of the closet. After a few months I ordered a pair and man they are comfortable. I get the chills because they have a little lining to them. Not really good boat shoes but for just "chillin'", they are comfortable. BTW, I have 4 pair now.

Those shoes may feel like a high-dollar hooker is rubbin' your feet, but there is no way I am buying 'em. Around here, they would get me shot.

I can vouch for pretty much anything from Born.
My work shoes are so comfortable, I forget I have them on.

Not slip-ons but it's hard to beat a pair of old school Converse. Not that cheap anymore tho.
