Default ComCast SCAM!!!!

So today my internet was suspended. I have my internet with ScumCast as they are the only option for high speed internet in my area. It's bad enough they charge me $65 a month for just internet, now I have to watch out for their scams.

I pay a lot of bills every month so I need that paper bill to remember who gets paid and when. About the only bill I would remember without a paper in front of me is my mortgage.

So anyway my internet was suspended. I call up to see what happened and see my bill wasn't paid since April. Sure enough that is the last paper bill I can find in my files. So I ask if I am enrolled in paperless (eco billing) and they say yes.

WHAT!!! I never signed up for that. They say that when you sign into your account you will get a message that asks if you want to enroll in the eco bill. But it's a small box on the home page which I skip over instantly and go right to emails. But here is the scam, the default answer is YES that you want to be enrolled in the eco bill. So if you miss the question box or skip over the entire page you just enrolled in the paperless billing!!

So now I'm on the hook for late fees for 2 months as well as a reconnection fee! Not only that now they charge a fee to speak to a rep when reinstating your account! Another scam as you have to speak to someone when your account is so past due. Plus how the hell can you pay your bill online when your account is suspended????

God dammit I can't stand these people Scumcast, ConCast....DIRTBAGS!!!!!!

That happened to me with a credit card once. I got the late fees waived though. Call back and give a manager or two some hell.

Yeah, so I have two $8.00 late charges totaling $16.00. Plus the $5.95 fee to speak to a rep to get the account up to date. And I'm not sure yet if there is a reconnection fee. Plus....I had to spend an hour on the "help chat" to get the password reset because something got messed up. I can't wait until they read my survey, but they will likely not give a flying shit.

So at the least they got me for $22.00 with this bullshit eco bill scam. So imagine if they get one million customers with this scam?

Real nice SuckCast, scam an extra $22 Million bucks a month out of your loyal customers. I wouldn't be surprised if some irate customer kicks in the door of a local concast office and starts kicking ass.

Hughesnet.com

Tell them to shove all payments owed up rear end.

The great thing about comcast is the more you pay them, the more they bill you.

I feel the same way you do about needing the paper bills, but that also went out the window a while back when I got married and more than just I bring in the mail.

At first I was against it, but then I enrolled in the autopay. Did they give you that option when you called? You might be/should be able to get them to wave all late and reconnection frees if you offer to enroll in the autopay plan.

That's ok, I signed up with auto bill pay with them when I opened my account. Two months go by and my service is turned off.

I call and say WTF, I signed up for autopay? They said "oh...yes we see you signed up, but that can take more than 2 billing cycles to become active." They had my CC information the whole time, yet hadn't gotten around to charging me, so it was my fault. Ditto when one of my CCs got replaced by the bank, etc, etc.

They're awful. Unfortunately their internet service is good.

Tell you are calling the public service commission and they will jump through hoops. How do I know. I work for a power company and they call on us and in turn the PSC calls us to let us know we had a complaint.

At my last house the internet kept dropping--like every 5 minutes it would just go out for about 30 seconds, then come back. I had the "tech" come out 3 different times--1st time a new router. The second time a new cable from the street to the house. The 3rd time it was "I'm sorry..this is as good as its going to get.".

I moved, and dropped them.

There are only two options aside from that Hughes net. Comcast and ATT DSL. I tried the DSL and it sucks in this area. Very slow. I also heard the Hughes is slow. One thing about comcast internet, it is very fast. To bad ass hole crooks run the company.

I don't like anything set up on auto pay, especially a company like comcast. Imagine if, or when, they over charge me, how difficult it will be to get my money back.

Default Good Comcast Story

My Father in Law recently passed away from cancer. He was on his death bed, could barely raise his head, eyes closed, and was worried about some of his accounts, Comcast included. I told him to just relax, that I was going to take care of all of that. He mentioned comcast and I said "yeah, they will rip you off if you give them a chance".

Let me tell you, my FIL raised his head up, eyes wide open, and said "Yes they will, they will rip you off!". It was the most animated he had been all day. We couldn't believe it!

I called Comcast to take care of closing his accounts and told the rep "I promised my FIL that I would give you this message...He wanted you to know that Comcast sucked $hit". The rep was like "ok,sir".

It felt pretty good! My FIL would not have raised his voice at a fly.

They are the #1 hated company America, according a survey I saw a few months back. If you live in a rural area, you may have no choice but to deal with them. They really just dont care how bad they are.

It is technology company that is run like an old school utility company.

There are no words in the English language that describes my hatred of them.

They are all the same. I live in a rural area where the only choice is Hughes-Net satellite. About once a year something goes wrong with it (bad modem / dish issues etc.) that requires them to come out and troubleshoot / repair the system.

Each time they try to charge me for this. To my way of thinking, they own the equipment necessary to provide the service I pay for - If it was my equipment, I would pay them to come fix it. Since they own the equipment, they should eat the cost of fixing it. I pay for them to provide service. The equipment they use to provide it is their problem.

Each time after fighting the issue they come fix it for free. But it's always an hour fight.

Am I being hardheaded?
