Had several tin boats . My lund with a 'rude 50 on it was my favorite, 9 years of hard ass core fishin(commercial bass and cod) and I sold it to a guy that still has it on a lake in maine. I had a hell of a lot of fun in those boats(14' starcraft too And a couple of those Big welded aluminum "west coast" jobs)When folks ask "what should I get -or what do you recommend I get for a boat"?I ALWAYS Recommend a 16' tin boat ,preferably lund. Easy to trailer, easy to launch solo, Fuel efficent, fast, fun and WAY more sea worthy than some may imagine.Great way to figure out how to be a "captain" before you get a boat that Many folks shouldn't be behind the wheel of.
Good luck with it, you'll have a blast.
No, we don't need a "tin boat forum"

Just sold my tin boat a couple months ago. 2007 16' Roughneck CC with a 60hp etec mounted on a BMS hydraulic jack plate. I had that thing decked out and man did it haul a$$! I'll see if I can find some pics of it.

Ive had more than my share of tin boats and have fished/duck hunted the hell out of them. My lund Alaskan with a 50 honda on it was probably my favorite. Started out with a 12' mirrocraft/3hp rude combo. Last rig that I just got rid of a couple years ago was a 16' mirrocraft with a 25 rude. That boat moved right along. Had a starcraft 16 with a 25 rude on it for a while too. That boat was a bit of a dog because it had a big heavy wood deck in it. Anyhow, I wouldn't mind seeing a tin boat forum here. Im sure I haven't bought and sold my last one
