I have driven most - on bikes and cars.....

They are all pretty good .... On the Harley I preferred long sweepers rather than tight dragon turns...

Its nice up there...

This was my first run on the dragon on my RK Classic.... Been up many times since ..

I've rode the dragon.

Best time is the off season if you want a "spirited" drive.

I was on the tail of the dragon once, going to Fontana Lake. What a mistake that was! Very scenic but I was pulling a boat and had a daughter that was getting car sick. Crotch rockets and sports cars passing me left and right! LOL

Ridden the Dragon. It's worth doing once. Around here we ride the "snake" which is 421 between Bristol and Mountain City. Not near as many switchbacks but some real flowing curves and some georgous views. Brushy Mountain Rd near N Wilkesboro is a good one but not for the faint of heart. Hwy 16 North North of Wilksboro, Hwy 18 North of Wilkesboro. Adaco Rd out of Colletsville to 181 to Linville. 64 to Lake Lure and 74 back down the other side. Hell, we got us some good ridin' roads right here in West Carolina.

I learned to drive on these roads. I remember driving in my grandads lap on these roads. On the way home my Grandad said we needed to blow the "soot" out of the muffler and would haul ass on the way home. THOSE WERE THE DAYS!!!

Wolf Creek nearly smoked the trans on my Yukon pulling a travel trailer out west 3 years ago.
