Default Costa polarization "Sweet Spot" in lense normal?

Hi all. This is directed to the Costa users out there.

I finally got my first pair of Costas, the Fathom w/ 580G lenses. However, I notice that the lenses have a "sweet spot" in them when it comes to polarization. If I look at the same area of water and move my head around, the glare off of the water comes and goes. I've also noticed that if I stare at the same area, looking through the sweet spot where I see no glare and cover one eye, I do have glare looking through the other...cover the other eye and glare is gone. I can control which eye is glare free by moving my head around. What I can't do is get both eyes to be glare free at the same time. I'm hoping that others don't experience the same thing and that these are defective and I can get them swapped out (bought them from Cabela's). I just wanted to hear from other Costa owners to see if they experience the same issues. Frankly, I'm a bit disappointed right now, especially considering the expense of these things.

The polarization should change its effect as you tilt your head, and to an extent from looking straight ahead or through the side of the lens.

When the glasses are built, the lens do need to be matched, and cut/installed matching, which is why it's better to replace both lenses at the same time if one is scratched. I know for a fact Maui Jim won't replace a single lens.

You've got a problem if one lens is different. Brand new, bring them back. If not, call Costa

I packaged them up and they are going back to Cabelas for an exchange. Hopefully the next pair will be what I expect.
