You know what really works the best? Try giving them a freindly wave. If they aren't total asses they will just bail on the situation (maybe realizing that they are acting stupid). If they are those real assbags we all know and love, it will just get them more aggrevated but who cares, just keep waving. I think of it as highway sarcasm.

X2 on the friendly wave...it gets them every time!

I have a reasonable right to expect that my vehicle and its contents are reasonably safe; therefore I take reasonable measures to secure my firearms within said vehicle.

If said vehicle is stolen and firearms are lost, I am no less responsible than you are; and no more responsible than you are.

This scenario could have escalated into a serious case of road rage with a possibility of death or severe injury. I myself would not engage fearing that the other erroneous party may be on drugs, have a weapon, or just crazy. We have all been there, it's what we do during and afterwards that determines the outcome. I'm not sure what point you were trying to make with regard to listing all the weapons. Maybe you should join a gun site.

Classic THT. You're going to get beaten to death by the "what if" crowd now kismet. This is a good time to take Gerry Spence's advise.

I could be wrong - but it seems to be a tactic used by CCW types (and before anyone start, I am getting my CCW training in the summer) whenever they are questioned... You are called a victim, or a wimp, or spineless - all because you question some actions or even try to learn how to behave in certain situations via simple discussion.

Every time - yes every time, I question the actions or discuss how to handle situations on this board, someone ends spewing out the spineless victim BS.

Is a part of CCW training or something? Is it a sales pitch?

"don't make yourself one of these spineless wimps - by our AR-15 whatchamacallit and never look back"

Kinda reminds me of Rex-Quan-DO from Napolean Dynamite.

Cruising thru suburbia on a major 6 lane road and this 300 pound a$$hole rolls buy with the window down, screaming his head off, arm waving out the window like its on fire and flipping us the bird?!?! We hadn't cut anyone, cruising with traffic (typical stoplight to stoplight stuff). WTF!

We're in the left lane, a-hole is in the middle, BIL is behind us. BIL sees what's transpiring and pulls in behind A-hole, runs up to his bumper, hits the high beams and lays on the horn. A-holes attention is now on someone else. He has his head out the window dropping F bombs like they've gone out of style. So i join in the fun, and lay on my horn. Poor guy can't hear himself think (he's driving a little ricer)!! LMAO

Still not sure what set this guy off....maybe my NRA Life sticker on the back window!
In any case, he picked the wrong two cars to screw with!

Besides us all packing, the cars were loaded with:
- 2 AR 15's
- 4 1911's in varying models
- 2 .40's
- 2 .380's
- 3 .22's (handguns)

Seems like I should have been there for the WalMart parking lot episode discussed earlier!
Cool Story Bro

Instilling "fear" or surprise is a terrific tactic to gain control of a situation (as I did with the horn or KJS did approaching the wiener in the BMW.

Of course, so is just smiling and walking away....

Or sticking ones head up his a$$ and ignoring the entire incident.....

I don't think we need to re-hash which is better/worse because every instance is different (so those of you who insist I was wrong, stupid, etc., please give it a rest).
You started the thread if you did not want any responses then don't start a thread. Give it a rest.

BTW ignoring an asshole is not sticking ones head up their ass its what a grown up does to not be drawn into a chldish confortation.

Putting your thread on autopilot? What happened, didn't get the warm and fuzzies you were hoping for?

When your dealing with idiots like that, its hard to refrain from being drawn in,but probably best to ignore. He may have gone down the road and then taken it out on a senior ,or a woman, because he was put in his place. Cant fix stupid.

When you get your CCW training, I hope your instructor has the wisdom mine had to teach:
1. avoid an armed confrontation if at all possible.
2. a license to carry is not a license to escalate confrontations.
3. if you don't understand #2, refer to #1.

Since getting my CCW, my behavior has become less confrontational, more polite, more reserved and more vigilant.

A couple years ago I ran a 'No turn on right' light, don't know why, guess my mind wasn't where it belonged at the moment. I was on my scoot to boot. Anyway this guy sees me do it coming across the intersection (as in if I waited another 3 seconds I would have cut in front of him).. Pulls right up on my ass and starts with the horn blowing. Keep in mind I'm on a motorcycle.. I give him the 'I'm sorry' kind of wave, not enough, I slow down to 1/2 the speed limit signalling him to pass.. He stays there, blowing his horn... I get scared now, WTF? does this idiot want to kill me? I lay into it, get ahead of him, pull off and he goes by. Now I'm pissed.. Go into downtown behind him cooling down (just a little) and we come to a light, I'm behind him and Sheriff car is to his right at the light. I jump off the bike, look directly at the sheriff and walk up to the guys car. Now I'm showboating I guess, the sheriff flips on his lights and signals me over, azzhole takes off. So I tell him whats going on (all of it) says had he witnessed it, I would have got a ticket, and azzhole been in handcuffs in the back of the cruiser.
