been away from THT last 3 weeks. Had to have a torn rotator cuff repaired (man those are some good meds!). Sat home for 2 weeks, cant fish, cant boat, heck cant make a sammich w my right arm now. 3 weeks down, 9 to go..ugh. Good to be back and have some laughs now though. Thanks THT'ers for making me laugh.

Do the physical therapy religiously, and it ain't no cakewalk in the beginning.

And send me any leftover pain meds for disposal.

I feel for you bro, I'm almost 7 months out and have full ROM but still rebuilding my strength. This is a long recovery. Make sure you follow the therapy to the letter.

That nerve block you get on the day of surgery is where the magic happens. Be careful with the percocet, it can lock you down and when you finally go you are going think you had an exorcism.

Just remember, when the Doc releases you from the sling is when the real fun starts. That friggin pulley exercise had to be invented by satan.

I had both shoulders done two years apart ('07 and '09).
On my right shoulder they had to repair a ruptured bicep tendon and also resect my clavicle to stop the impingement.
Shaved away the odd bone spur or two also. All good.
My shoulders give me NO trouble whatsoever now.

My physical therapy and recovery wasn't too bad at all, but my surgeries were orthroscopic.
I understand if your surgeon does full cut (as opposed to scope), the recovery is much longer.
Not sure how frequent full cut is any more, however.

Look forward to your recovery. I feel much better without the constant shoulder pain.

I feel.your pain brother, Ive been laid up for 3 weeks with a broken heel. I'm not sure how much longer I will be zero weight bearing but I'm guessing another 8 weeks at the minimum.
