Default Anyone familiar with PRIMUS locks???

Has anyone used these locks and found key duplication to be secure.....or readily available? They are promoted as if key duplication is very secure but I'd like real world experience before I drop over a grand to re-key my building. (we've realized that over the years there are now ALOT of keys floating around, including a number that are likely in the hands of ex-employees).

There are different levels in primus. One level is semi restricted and only locksmiths will have it but sometimes more than one in your area will have the blanks. They aren't supposed to interfere with a competitor's system but you can't be sure. Another level up requires a card like a credit card to get duplicates. That is a much more secure level. The good thing about Primus is that you can put the Primus cylinders on the outside of the building and keep your standard Schlage cylinders on the interior doors and the Primus key will pass the standard. They come in both "C" and "E" keyway. I always recommend that the exterior of the building be keyed different from anything else and OFF the master key. That way you can change cleaning crews or rekey the exterior without having to rekey everything if the cleaning crew had a master and it fit the exterior doors. They may still have a master but not a key to get into the building. Any questions shoot me a pm and I'll give you my cell# and we can talk.
