Default quad/ATV insurance

Do you guys with quads have insurance specifically on them, not including homeowners? I have 4 and I'm thinking I should look into this.

Also, do you register them with your state DMV?

I have two quads and each have insurance through Progressive. In addition, both are registered with our state department of motor vehicles. It's pretty much required for any trail riding around here.

Progressive charges me ~110/yr for 13,000 coverage on my Polaris ranger. Not registered with the state. No sense in paying the bastages sales tax on a purchase that will only be driven on my ranch...

We only ride on our property so I probably won't register. I just got a quote from Geico of $ 169 for 3 of the quads. The 4th is a small Chinese kids quad. I think its a small price for peace of mind.

What about theft? I assume homeowners covers that?

No, homeowners will not cover it unless it is used SOLELY to maintain the property. Get an Inland Marine. Cheap.

All of my auto/homeowners is with Southern Farm Bureau and through them I have my Polaris insured through Foremost

Seems like it cost me about $185 a year and that is with full coverage including liability

Lot of the timber companies that lease land to hunt clubs in the SE are now requiring full coverage on ANY vehicle that is on their land

$120 per year for my '09 polaris ranger through nationwide, which has all my insurance. That $120 covers everything (medical, etc) + $3,000 in accessories
