Default Bachelor Party in Atlantic City or Vegas

I am trying to work out some logistics for my bachelor party and try to decide on a location. My best man, my dad, is not much on the planning so I am working on it.

There are 8-10 guys going in August and we are not looking for a fishing destination since we fish here. Looking more for the party, pool, gambling, up to no good place with "scenery." I realize both of these places would fill that niche, but which one will do it better? Originally it was just Vegas, but some of the guys are tighter for cash so AC looked like a better deal if they wanted to go. Figure the same outcome either place anyways.

Where would you go? Where would you stay? and what would you do?

I have been to Vegas a few times but never to Atlantic City so I am open to suggestions.

If you've never been to Vegas, I'd go there. A lot more entertainment options and the sheer gaudy oplulence and kitschyness is something to behold.

I think AC would get old and stale after about 12 minutes.

Default D0 ac

Harrahs , In AC....the pool parties are great, it is right on the inlet, and you can walk to Caesars , Farley Marina is right there, if you want to hop on a boat, or deck bar, OR go over to some of the beach bars , Margaritaville is opening on the beach next month , weather nice in August not hot like Vegas,

Where does everybody live? If they are in the NE, AC may be the best choice $$ but its still the jersey shore. I am not a fan of Vegas, and the thought wouldn't even cross my mind of heading out there in August when it's 120.

My best bachelor party every was in New Orleans. What about Miami?

Spent alot of time in AC, worked 2nd shift and would hit the casino's for some blackjack and night life.

Went to Vegas a few years back for a conference and had never been there.

I'll never go back to AC and I am only 80 miles away.

Which city did they film that movie in??? Hmmmmm

If you aren't local to AC, then Vegas is a no brainer. The only two things Vegas and AC have in common are casinos and chain brand steakhouses in the casinos.
AC is a what it could have been, because what it is: a bunch (about 1/6 the number Vegas has) of casinos surrounded by blight and a seaside area that is among the bottom 10% on the Jersey Shore, isn't worth much. And, yes I have been there more than enough times to know.

Ok, Vegas seems like the better place. We all live in eastern, NC so it is less expensive to go to AC. I have thought about Miami or something along those lines but I feel like it might be a bit much for these guys. None of use are really into the "club" scene. We mostly end up in someones garage drinking beer while grilling or working on stuff.

I have been to Vegas a few times and I spend most of my time at the tables but in this case I don't want gambling to be the focus of attention, but rather something else to do. Maybe I need to look into some other possible destinations just for good measure.

Not sure where you would fly from ---- but CLT to Vegas in August is around $300 (1 stop) ..... and you can get hotels dirt cheap ..... NY NY was $85 pn ...

Regarding the club scene,,,, leave that to the kids..... craps, food, sports book, pool ,,, and any order ...

I love living near AC for concerts and stuff. If I were you Id rent a house in the middle or lower keys and bbq, drink and fish in a tropical setting. Maybe head to Key West while there. Thats just me, admittedly I'm not a gambler though. Thats not to say I dont go to AC often because I do. All the big bands come here.

If your boys aren't "club types" Vegas might be not that fun. There are plenty of velvet ropes to wait behind unless you have girls with you or plenty of "grease" for the guys at the door.
I will say that there is a ton of talent and you will have fun.

If you really want to keep gambling out of the picture, plus it is going to be in August then I'll throw a ringer at you: Chicago. Great bars, locally based restaurants, "scenery", music, the works. Next choice: Manhattan for the same reasons, but summertime in Chi is hard to beat.

I'd go with New Orleans if it wasn't in the summer.
AC? Ugh!
