Default Grand Isle typical clickish community

I can only imagine what visitors experience when they travel through our smaller clickish communities in Louisiana. My word of advice is to always contact Parish Police if you run into problems.

Its no different in any small, isolated rural community. Outsiders need to smile a lot if they want to hang in Leebos Rock Bottom bar on a Saturday nite - Everglades City, Florida.

If you think Grand Isle is bad, you better stay out of Livingston and Plaquimines Parishes.

35 years ago, I was working at the local Western Auto (does anyone remember them), in Ascension Parish. We never accepted a check written by a resident of Livingston Parish. Their was no way the sheriff in Livingston word serve a warrant on one of his people on the behalf of a business in Ascension.

I have a camp on grand isle. It's no different from any other town in the country. The locals all seem to like me, I guess because they see us there every week and we are somewhere between a local and a tourist. But, I have certainly heard stories of locals resenting the "shirts" as they call the fisherman.
