Default Any Florida lawyers (west coast) here

I just had my father brought back here to NY

I will say this, what I have to deal with is as if I had an out of control early twenties kid (he is 72)

Oxycontin was the culprit

He was subscribed it for pain

He received a suspended license for something, then got a suspended license ticket, plus others?? (something towards that nature)

I need to hire a lawyer to straighten them out (he is not going back there, I say)??

Some might remember that just over a year ago, I lost my niece to this mixed with heroine and alcohol, so I don't have much a tolerance for this stuff

When not controlled properly, turns perfectly good citizens into street bums

Thank you

Holy shit Mike! There are few guys on here that should be able to suggest someone. Just wanted to stick my head in and say I was sorry to hear about it.

That's a nightmare...

Thank You Pete, not so

If I didn't have the knowledge to recognizing what was going on, maybe, but I can spot it from a mile away, it has took about a year for me to just sit back and allow the cards to fall where they would, then swoop in and snatch him out of there before things got bad??

Why you need a lawyer? Maybe a rehab place you really think its Florida's fault. They don't have oxys in NY

florida has "pain management" mills which are VERY questionable in nature. You have a legitimate concern.

Sorry, can't help you, I'm on the east coast.

Thank you buddy

The problem isn't Florida, the problem is that I am not there to oversee what goes on

He was just staying (the last couple months) with my aunt and uncle, I was being assured that everything was going good, my cousin was driving him everywhere

I got a text last night, my cousin was locked up for stealing oxycontin ???

Sorry to hear about your dad, I hope everything works it for the best.

What part of the west coast of Florida? I work in the same office as a criminal attorney, I can ask if he knows of a good attorney on the west coast, just need to know if it's Naples, Tampa or further north.

I would contact THT member TokinRed, he is a defense attorney in St Pete and should be able to help you or point you to someone who can.

My wife works for Pasco County. That is where New Port Richey/Hudson is...

Let me know if there is anything I can do here locally; we live a few miles away from that area.

The pain management clinics in this state are under scrutiny...many have been forced out of business and some of the doctors involved have been arrested. But like any other drug...if there is a demand, there will be a supply. Newer drugs are popping up; but Oxy arrests are still in the news here...

Sorry to hear about your situation with your Dad. It seems as if he was in the middle and was being used....

Thank you

I am not sure where the traffic infractions happened, might have been in Hernando as well, but my guess would be Pasco, because he was living right off 52

Yes, that is exactly right, he was in the middle My beliefs are that they used him to get there stuff, for rides, and for his SS check

He deals with the VA hospital (so I am told??)

One of my very, very good friends is a Doctor, so today or tomorrow I am sending him in for blood work, to find out what medications he really needs (educate me)

We will let the VA hospital up here handle what he really needs, not what all his street walking girl friends need

Trust me when I say this, the story I could tell would be a "oh my god" moment for anybody reading it

Due to the questionable nature of these pill mills and the scrutiny they're receiving, I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't a law firm down here specializing in matters associated with over-prescription of controlled medications. Maybe an internet search for such a firm??

Becareful in Florida there´s plenty of lawyers that used to be prosecuters, they are worthless...

They don´t defent your right or your innocence, they want you behind bars!!!

Florida has an outstanding public record access policy. You can do a search on any attorney and see information on both licensing issues and peer reviews and ratings. Hell, you can probably find out if they have a trophy wife/husband.......
