thought it might be interesting/helpful to see what things you've bought or acquired that have exceeded your expectations, unlike the junk that most things wind up being these days
post up your favorites for gear and the like that do what they are designed to do and last a long time
here's a couple of mine:
watershed waterproof bags
http://www.drybags.com/recreational-products.html
i have a small duffel bag that i bought at a boat show about 15 years ago, maybe longer. i still use it almost every day
i got large suitcase sized duffels for my wife and i for trips across the bay to our camp in texas, they are the only thing that keeps dry
taclite pro work shirt
http://www.511tactical.com/All-Produ...eve-Shirt.html
i wear these three or four days a week as an office and field work shirt
forget about the "tacticool" stuff...its a sturdy well made shirt that looks good and never needs ironing, plus its breathable
usually you can find them on sale for less that $50
i have some 3 year old shirts that look new
makita 18v drill/impact combo
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Makita-18...g#.UXqe2Eq8qsQ
this is like stealing
for $200 you get a sturdy, lightweight drill and impact with 2 batteries
the batteries last much longer than comparable brands, and are 1/2 the size. the impact alone is worth the money
buy this and throw your other junk away

I am very impressed with our Oral B "3D" electric toothbrush. Going on 10 years! We replace the brushes as needed (find them on line cheapest). Does a great job and dentist says it is a good temporary replacement to flossing..
My Uniden Atlantis handheld VHF. I have had it since 2003. It hold a charge forever, and has great range and volume.
Our 2003 Subaru Outback Wagon has also been a great piece of machinery. Wife is still on original clutch and 103K miles..
Bass Kandy Delights!

Just to name a few..
Leatherman knife, one of the few easily carried that has a phillips head screwdrive you can actually use, had one for years and still tight and works great,
http://www.leatherman.com/product/c33T/c33Tx
Rayovac work LED flashlights, I have Surefires and several other high end flashlights but these for a fraction of the cost are just good and may even be stronger.
http://www.rayovac.com/Products/Lights/Work.aspx
Luminox Colormark watch, can see at night without touching it, super strong, small, light and comfortable to wear all the time.
http://www.luminox.com/watches/sea/+/watch/A.3151/
GearWrench, use them all the time, never broken one and the wrenches have very small detents so you can use them in very tight place, I have several pass through socket sets and wrench sets.

Glock handguns Simple, reliable firepower... Over the past 25 years I have used them to defend myself and others both on the street and on the oceans and marshland of Florida which in a LE capacity. Never any rust and always has functioned. One tough sidearm.
Penn downriggers I have a set that are probably 12 years old or older and still working well..
Ocean Wave sunglasses I have several pairs. One pair is 10 to 15 years old and they still look great. Great glasses and a good value.

Rapala fillet knife. Blades never rust and a few passes with the sharpener and good to go.
I even keep one on my kitchen counter. Great for cutting excess fat off of items to be cooked.
Not bad for twenty bucks.

Daiwa Sealine Reels - I have at least a dozen of these from small ones, to mid-size 450H, 600H, to a couple monster 900H rock cod specials. Simple star drags, single speed. They...never...break. Even caught a 300+ blue marlin on one of the 450's. The reel was smoking from that marlin's run and burnt me when I pulled it out of the rod holder.Poured some water on it, started cranking. 45 minutes later, a clean release on a beautiful blue. Put some new drag washers in it, stills work fine.

In rare instances, men have reported an erection that lasts many hours. You should call a doctor immediately if you ever have an erection that lasts more than 4 hours. If not treated right away, permanent damage to your penis could occur (see How Sex Affects the Body).

I was over the ol mans house a few weeks back and the Viagra commercial came on, and when it mentioned the 4 hour part, he was like call a doctor my ass, I'm calling the news... Everyone should be in on the big news. I literally inhaled most of my crown and coke thru my nose.
As for products I can't live without... It's all junk, cheap junk...
