Default Phoenix/Scottsdale suggestions

I'll be out in the desert next week for work. My days will be filled with work but I'll be free at night. Any suggestions appreciated.

Take a rifle. Go coyote hunting. Non-resident 3 day license is $63

Age/Sex/Name/Rank/Serial number???

Actually, I don't need any of that, but if you give me a general idea of your interests (sports, chasing skirts, stuffing your face, etc.), I can point you to a lot of fun stuff!

Late 30's, happily married, size 11.5 shoe. I'll be working all day but free at night and am perfectly content to hit a good restaurant and/or bar solo and people watch.

Twin Peaks in Scottsdale. Be sure to hit that at least once.

Also, some pretty good places in the Mill Ave area in Tempe on ASU campus. I liked the Cantina for a relaxing meal and drink. Get a table outside for good people watching.

This is a good time to go. I was out there last year pretty much from April through September. July and August were positively brutal.

Z'Tejas and Nick's Pizza and Pasta. Doubt these are considered "night spots" but we had great food at both.

Dos Gringos in Scottsdale - right in the heart of the club scene and a great place to just hang out on the outdoor patio. Gets very busy. Oreganos in Scottsdale for pizza, wings, beer, chill. An AZ original with great food. ProTip: Try the Bellini...you are only allowed two of them, but wow, they are great!

As mentioned, Mill Avenue in Tempe. So... much... to choose from.

I think the Diamondbacks are in town next week -- always fun to catch a ball game at Chase field downtown PHX. Alice Cooperstown right near the stadium for eats.

Just a few fun things!!

Dulcecita,

I gotta ask...whatever happened to Palo Soleri's compound?

Wasn't he outside of Scottsdale?

He sold those bronze bells.

Still there... Arcosanti. It's more north, on the way to Sedona. You know he passed away at 93 this month, right?

No hadn't heard.

Unique man.

I toured Arcosanti and Taliesan West in 1975.

There's a little taco place (I think it's a Phoenix chain) called Fuego's. I ate there a couple times when I was there. They have a good jalepano margarita.

I stayed at the hotel Palomar downtown, but the bar was cool and good for people watching.
