Default Surfer on possible 100ft wave

The building in the foreground was mentioned to be a 10 story building for perspective. That would take balls to try.

I don't think there are any 10 story buildings in Nazare, especially not built out of stone. I would look at the power line and the light pole for perspective.

I am not familiar with the area and originally saw the picture on one of this mornings news programs and they mentioned the building being that hieght as a reference.I didn't notice the powerline and light pole earlier.good catch.

That looks like me in the third photo at the pipeline in Hawaii in '69..

Except I never wore a shirt...

All I can say is it's really hairy surfing over a hard coral bottom. Every wipeout is planned to try and stay on top...we rarely wore a leash as they had a tendency to drag you down.....dinged up a lot of boards back then...

We had big rollers come into Waimea during the winter...at least 50' or so......it took a big stick and even bigger balls to surf that break.

I never ventured out there....only to watch..
