If the woman did not want a smart meter, she could have asked to have her electrical service disconnected. Otherwise, she's not going to tell a public utility how to do their business or what equipment they can use to deliver her service.

There´s no such thing as private property...

Stop paying property taxes and you gonna see who that property belongs to.

Doesn't the smart meter mean they no longer have to send somebody out to your property to read the meter every month? Wouldn't that be better for this woman concerned about people coming on to the property? I bet her current meter wasn't functioning properly and now she will get billed for her real usage.

Didn't the ex -CIA director have this to say?

General David Petraeus, Director of the CIA spoke at a conference about smart devices, "'Transformational' is an overused word, but I do believe it properly applies to these technologies, particularly to their effect on clandestine tradecraft... Items of interest will be located, identified, monitored, and remotely controlled through technologies such as radio-frequency identification, sensor networks, tiny embedded servers, and energy harvesters."

For some unknown reason, Glen Beck is making a big deal about stopping smart meters and other types of technology. Even the OP's link to "TheBlaze....com" is Glen Becks personal website.

He was yammering on about these meters as well as googles plan to create human AI using knowledge they gained off of the data provided from your google search terms...

Not sure what to make of all this just yet.

I've read about some tin foil hat folks saying the the smart meter is going to allow FBI to hear/watch everything going on in their house.

If she doesn't want the smart meter, disconnect from the grid... simple fix!

Default Title

Title deed here lists us as either a joint tenant or a tenant in common.

You own nothing, you are merely a custodian of it for future generations.

You come into this world nekkid and screaming with nothing and will likely go out the same way!

You can't take it with you - heck you can't even bury yourself on it these days.

Life is a sexually transmitted disease & birth is a death sentence - non of us gets out of this alive.

I want to die peacefully in my sleep like my grand pappy, not screaming like the passengers in his car!

All this fuss about private property? ;?

Beats me... I want to go at 102 - shot in the back by a jealous husband, while legging it nekkid over his back fence!

The Government can easily spy on you already. Through your phone they can find out where you are calling from and who you are talking to. They know where you work. They know where you live. They know how much money you have in your bank accounts. If you use a CC or debit card they can track what you have been buying. If they can have all of that at their fingertips who cares if they know when you do your laundry and dry your hair. I don't like the Government watching me but I'm not going to only comunicate face to face in secret, only work for cash and burry the money in the backyard, only buy things with cash, quit filing taxes, disconnect my utilities and wear a tinfoil hat. Having a meter reader snooping around my property randomly isn't more comforting than remotely monitoring my power/gas/water usage.

Obviously you are not aware there are programs out there right now that a home owner can consent to which allows the electric company to turn your electricity off at peak times of the day. Haven't you got one of those calls yet? I have. If this is consensual currently what is to stop it from becoming mandated in the future?????

Ahhh-but the gubment can know in intimate detail with what you "do" in your home.

btw--how you hold title depends on the state and how you took title.

There is not one standard answer.

I eat, sleep, chit, f@ck and watch TV when at home. Which one do you think they want intimate details about?

Trespassing is secondary to her concern about the RF waves she believes will hurt her child/family.
Is there really a need to be concerned about your health with RF on the "Smart Meters?
I tend to believe the opposite of what the government believes and tells us.

Here in MD, those who signed up to let Baltimore Gas and Electric have control over their power use expecting to see a savings had their power either turned off or reduced to the point their AC would not work on the hottest days one summer.

It's about government having control over you.

READ THIS:

Blame government, not BGE, for turning off the AC
Maryland politicians don't trust the market to price electricity what it actually costs
August 08, 2011|By William Yeatman

Ratepayers are steamed at Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. for turning off air conditioners in thousands of homes on July 22, the hottest day in 75 years. Their outrage, however, is misdirected. Blame for this indoor heat wave lies with the government in Annapolis, not with a utility in Baltimore. BGE customers were left without climate control in 110-degree heat because politicians don't trust their constituents with the thermostat.

Hot days are a threat to reliable electricity service because surges in the use of energy-intensive air conditioners can overwhelm the grid. In order to avoid power outages caused by overloads in electricity consumption, Maryland lawmakers have enacted policies to "manage" demand. Specifically, in 2008, Gov. Martin O'Malley signed a law that established targets for utilities to reduce demand during peak periods. BGE achieves these goals primarily with its PeakRewards program, by which the utility pays customers for the right to centrally plan their central air.

Here is the Bull $h!t bait they used to catch the dumba$$'s that bit.

I guess there are really 4 issues.

1. Power companies and government having control over your gas and electric use with the lure of you saving money....Yea, right!
2. Knowing when your home is empty. That can be done multiple ways already by multiple companies.
3. RF health issue. Is there really one to be concerned about? Believe the government if you like.
4. Your control over your private property. You have no control. You never did.

This. As the socialists limit future electricty production,
power will be rationed to homes. You and I will have
T-stats controlled remotely just as large businesses do now.
