We have 3 cats, my "baby" will retrive most toys, but the really neat/weird thing she does is when I stop brathing(sleep apnea)she will slap my nose with her paw(claws retracted) to wake me up. She is the reason I found out about the sleep apnea. I get fitted for the machine next month.

She was small enough when we got her, I'd carry her in the pocket of my tee shirt. My wife says she sits in the window 30 minutes prior to me getting home from work, if I'm not home on time, she gets worried and won't leave my wife alone.

My cat Max loves the tin foil ball and has been retrieving since he was a kitten. He's over 10 now and still does.

My cat brings me half eaten fish, birds, lizards and snakes.

I've never seen one do that.

I had a Maine **** that was a better retriever than my black lab! He had a mouse toy and I tossed it across the room one day and he ran over, picked it up, and brought it back to me. I was floored! I tossed it again, and damned if he didn't retrieve it again. At some point the toy was lost/destroyed, and I could never get him to retrieve anything else. He was more like a dog than a cat, and would come running if I called him from another room. The only thing I couldn't do was get him to walk on a leash. I tried a few times, but he wasn't having any of it. Great cat...I miss him.

We always had cats in the house when I was a kid, usually 3. anyhow, we had one that was an "out" cat ,most were In only. This cat would "Retrieve" Fish heads and bring them home. I mean like Daily for long periods of time. it was like there were ALWAYS these weird friggen fish heads on the front porch, the front lawn , back yard. I still don't know where the hell he got them. never saw him eating them, they were just always there.weird.

I don't like cats, but my daughter's siamese is a retriever-sparkly balls, pencils, etc. he'll do it for as much time as she gives him...
