Default Breaking Bad... Question?

Spoiler Alert!!!!

The end of Season 4... Why would Walt poison the kid? What did he stand to gain from it? To get Jesse away from Gus? Has he deteriorated to the point where he is now as evil as Gus?

He is now evil as Gus. He did it so Jessie would suspect Gus as he and his people had been involved in killing a kid before.

He did it to manipulate Jesse into hating Gus. I havent started the 5th season, but it is one of the best shows on TV. Check out Hell on Wheels, on AMC.

It's called "Breaking Bad." It's about a school chemistry teacher who comes down with lung cancer and starts cooking pure crystal meth to leave money for his family when he's gone. http://www.amctv.com/shows/breaking-bad

I haven't started watching season 5 yet. The last episode I saw was the last of season 4. This is the last season. I'm going to miss this show when it ends!

I will go on record saying it's probably the best show on tv of all time. You may not like the characters or the plot, but the writing and overall execution are the standard by which all other shows should be judged. Seriously. Every character, no matter how small, is there for a reason. Every event or action is part of the story. All loose ends are tied up. Nothing is filler. The story never slows down. There is continuous forward progress. If you watched lost, think about what you didn't like about it. That's what you'll LOVE about breaking bad. HBO and the other "premium" channels need to pay attention and learn some lessons.

Actually HBO was in negotiations to get Breaking Bad but they decided to pass on it.

I just watched most of the current season 5 episodes. I used to be rooting for Walt. Not anymore. He went off the deep end after poisoning the kid and killing Gus. I can't believe he bugged Hanks DEA office. But now that Mike is dead I don't think there are any ties with him or Jesse to Gus' operation.

Yes - Walt was a step or 2 ahead of Gus. Walt wanted Gus dead, and he needed Jesse so he took a huge gamble knowing how Jessie would react... He played him like a fiddle. Walt is becoming a "mad scientist"

Can't believe they are splitting the season until next year. Gilligan better not end this Sopranos style.

No. Next week is the mid-season finale. Then after a few months for what I'm assuming is some tweaking (see what I did there?) of the final episodes, the series will pick up again in January or February. But that will be it. It all comes to a boil and the series will be over.
