Default Excedrin

So it would be my luck that something that works very well for mY headaches would be pulled from the shelves. excedrin is about the only thing that works for me, many other meds have very bad side effects on me. So it has been pulled voluntarily by the manufacturer due to some stray and chipped pills, it has been a few months with no sign of it coming back. So I was discussing this with my wife and she says she heard that some people have started selling what they have on eBay. So I took a look and sure enough, there are some lots of 100 to 200 pills going for over $150. Is this legal, much less is it safe?

I actually stopped using it awhile back because of the caffeine and was surprised to see it gone when I tried to find some....gone since January

You're not alone...

Excedrin users turn to the Web to find relief

Yup I am also a little pissed about this. Excedrin was the only thing that quickly took care of my headaches. Especially that hangover headache. The Caffeine is what really knocks the pain out.

I did find a close substitute. Target sells a similar product but it's not quite as good. but it is close. I couldn't find it on the Target website but I found it on Amazon. My local Target has it.

Publix had a substitute but it's not like the real deal. Don't know if it will ever be back, I still have a few.

you can always get a prescription for generic fioricet from your doctor. It's cheap and very effective.

Nearly all products containing apap, or tylenol, have been pulled from the market "voluntarily" due to concerns of overdose. In fact, several prescription products will be pulled soon.

Excedrin is caffeine, tylenol and aspirin. Many generics are the same formula.

All of a sudden they are worried about people over dosing? Jesus I have been taking Excedrin for like 20 years. Why all of a sudden?

So stupid! What's next.......limit 3 double cheese burgers a month at Mc Donald's so people don't die of a heart attack?

No more hot coffee?

Sky diving outlawed?

It's getting to the point where the gov-ment thinks they need to make all of our choices for us.

well, while I agree with you that the concept is rather stupid, I do believe that the OTC sale of acetaminophen should be better controlled. It's the leading cause of non-intentional liver failure since countless OTC and prescription products contain apap. Most people don't realize this and end up taking well about the max daily allowance. In Europe, you can't buy apap in any large quantities, I think the max OTC is like 24 or something. It's a good idea to make people aware. Pulling all the OTC products is a bit extreme, but nobody wants to get sued now-a-days. You may see excedrin again with a lower dose of apap, but I wouldn't count on it anytime soon

Advil migrane. It is also the closest thing to a hang over cure. 20 beers gives me a terrible head ache and this takes good care of it.

Gotcha....

No problem, I'll just take up smoking and smoke 600 cigs a day. Its perfectly legal and it won't kill me right?

This looks to be pretty much the same thing. This company is probably cashing in, they even made the packaging look similar.

That's what I've been using lately - Excedrin worked best for ME, too.

Gotta' be careful with the acetaminophen though - could lead to liver problems.

ALSO, I originally switched over to ibuprofen when the Excedrin was pulled. Ended up with "elevated kidney function" of "3" - "1" is "normal"! Doc told me to STOP the ibuprofen and within a week, it was down to "1.56".

Regards,

I took two of the GF's excedrin migraine pills and was up for 2 days. I dont drink coffe, soft drinks, no smoking/chewing so those pills threw me for a loop. That is some strong medicine.

Haven't heard it was pulled due to concerns of overdose. From what their site and call center tell me, they had issues of chipped pills and the possibility of other pills being mixed in. It does seem odd it is taking this long to get it right. I had a horrible headache last night and dug through my truck and found an old bottle, I felt like I had hit gold.
BC powders do work for me but my doctor has told me to stay away from them. He thinks they may have contributed to some stomach issues I have and doesn't want me taking chances.

Excedrin takes care of my headaches too. I went to Sams club last week to buy a three pack only to find out it has been pulled

I guess I'll have to give Wollyworld Equate a try.

Back in the day the only thing that would get rid of a hangover was an excedrine and a bowl of chicken noodle soup with crushed saltines on top. I hope they dont ban chicken noodle soup next.
