Crazy story. I thought there would be a lot more posts about it hear this morning. My wife and I were planning on seeing the movie tonight, but this morning she told me, no she's not going this weekend.

Since we're all a bunch of armchair experts, here's a thread started by one of the guys who got shot!

http://www.reddit.com/r/WTF/comments...urora_theatre/

Be sure to click on the title at the top to see his photos.

Hopefully this guy comes back to share what happened. (he seems to have disappeared since posting)

Interesting photos - never heard of reddit - interesting comments

"What's it feel like to get shot?" Yea its maybe insensitive but the guy put his post out there and that IS the question everyone is thinking - hey this guy is gonna answer

nevertheless Very sad -

no doubt we will have a rush of gun sales and permits going out in the denver area today

as said above you gotta think twice about gong anywhere in public in the city - hopefully the old LCR and Bodyguards gonna add SOME comfort

Gonna buy some more stock

My family always gives me grief when they found out I carry even to the movies. Tonight I have D box tickets to see this movie. I wonder if they will be deep down happy knowing dad is carrying.

In NC we can't legally carry where admission is charged. Isn't that f%$ked up?

Prayers to all involved.

And parents buy their kids video games like, "Call of Duty" and the such. Put a kid in a room long enough with nothing but video games and ignore him and see what happens. Part of the problem is, some of us tend to let kids raise themselves. Prayers to everyone involved.

Interesting - I better brsh up on our laws here - never knew that Ok it looks like we cannot carry on school grounds and haven't found other restrictions ....also..apparantly with the permit was can also open carry

Connecticut is a Castle Doctrine state and does have a stand-your-ground law.

Careful - reddit will suck you in faster than THT. Questions like "what's it feel like to get shot" are exactly the sorts of things reddit thrives on. There are actually now TWO people posting on reddit who say they were in the theater. The mods over there will usually verify those sorts of things after a while, but it gives you an idea for how big reddit is...

It is impossible to read the threads with that layout. Good grief.

Plus, they have a member called 'tastyboner'.

Many, many CCW law differences by state. In my state, carrying at a movie theater is OK, carrying in a sports stadium with more than 2500 seats is not. Any business can post a sign on the door forbidding firearms and law requires you to obey.

Unless there is a metal detector, I just carry. Concealed means Concealed. If SHTF and you stop an active shooting, I doubt they will do anything to you.

This guy should be hanged today....and his body taken to the local landfill, and covered up with trash and left to rot!

I will probably get slammed here for this but , Whatever. What good is a concealed weapon going to do? Are you thinking you will draw down on this guy in a crowded theater? People in panic running everywhere. That just doesnt seem to smart. JMO

It's very hard to say, but if you don't have a weapon you will definitely NOT have that option. A knife might be a better weapon in this situation. If you have a clear backdrop you might get a clean shot in, but it could take an innocent too so it would be a difficult decision.

No slam a valid question but as said above at least you have the option. you can carry open in CT - but do you really want to attract attention and have the possibility of someone either stealing it or trying to? Its legal here for pistol permit holders to carry open but basically NOBODY does it. they strongly discourage it at every level and its a main teaching oint in the classes. Plus the cops do not like it and will sometimes harass you with a breach of peace violation and that is a hassle for you to go to court and clear it up or pay a fine. With all these pocket holsters and such it isn't an big deal gettig a gun out.
