Sunk in WWII and at a depth of 15,000'....the SS Garisoppa has just given up a huge load of silver bullion.

The salvage people are not going to be able to keep it all. This is old news if it's the one i saw in the beginnging of summer. The country that owned the boat is getting the silver back minus the cost to retrieve it.

Kind of agree but I also think those that perished on the ship would say, hell yeah, come get the silver. I can't blame ya for that, we'd do the same.

The country that owned the boat is getting the silver back minus the cost to retrieve it.

The country that owned the boat will retain 20% of the monetary value, the contract salvage company gets the rest. It's in the article ...

The recover operation began in May....and the English government owns the wreck.
But they just recovered recently the silver.
They will get 80%...20% to the English government.

I thought is was eairler then that. Wasn't there something about salvage rights that was setteled in a court, of who owns it?

It doesnt matter who gets the money, it is still wrong to disturb the wreck.

What if they found oil under Gettysburg? What if their were diamonds in the USS Arizona?

Let those souls rest. Just my 2 cents however unpopular.
