Default Droid Razr Owners - DO NOT upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich OS

I did, and now I hate my phone. This OS sucks beyond belief. Hate my phone.

The old Gingerbread OS was truly amazing... I loved everything about it. Verizon and Google pushed the ICS upgrade on me and without thinking, I upgraded.

I'll spare you the details, but let's just say I drove 35 miles to my Verizon store to see if they could revert me. That's how bad it is.

Don't upgrade!

Can you be a little specific as to what you don't like about it? I'm asking, bc I bought a Motorola smart phone a month ago, so I'm still getting used to it. (not a Droid). I just got work a few days ago that ICS will be available to upgrade, sometime in this 3rd quarter. I thought it was supposed to be so great. What's wrong with it? Were you able to revert?

I upgraded to ICS yesterday and like the flow and features with the upgrade, but I can't answer a fkn phone call. I can turn off the phone and turn it back on and work ok but an hour or two later I can't answer a call. Needless to say there's going to be a lively discussion at Verizon tomorrow. Oh yea, it seems to be a real battery sucker too. And another oh yea it knocks my phone off bluetooth in my truck which I never had a problem with.

Had an iPhone couldn't get away from it fast enough, also own an ETEC. ICS is truly amazing. I have been running it for almost 8 months on my SGS2 and couldn't be happier. Also have ICS on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 for two months and both devices work great. My fiances Razr Maxx was just upgraded an so far no issues. ICS is an awesome upgrade to android, I imagine any issue you are having is from Motorola. Can't wait for Jelly Bean.

There seems to be a lot of online chatter about the ICS update for the Razr Max and problems related to the update. One of the big issues seems to be battery drain and since my phone currently goes 2 days on a charge with relatively active use, I'm hesitant to do the upgrade until they get it figured out.

Gingerbread

Jelly Bean

Can't they hire someone with a set of testicles to start naming their software?

How do you know which is being run on your phone?

ICS is great. You are having some type of problem with your upgrade from your carrier. I have had no problems with my Sprint Samsung Galaxy II running ICS. According to ALL of my friends in the computer science field, Android blows Apple out of the water. Apple phones are great for what they do, but you are limited in its use compared to the open source Android platforms. One of them just got back from Google's conference in San Fran, Cali. They gave out the new Google phone running Jelly Bean. He is stoked and really excited about the new features and speed of the operating system. That is all that I can tell you. Anything more is over my head.
