Deals Gap!!! I've ridden it twice. Once was a weekend it was packed. I saw two bikes that had gone down. Try and ride it on a week day. Have fun and ride safe!!! Tight turns for your big beast

Weekends are busy.....

I wont get up there until Sat night - making a few stops on the way up.....

Will probably avoid the Dragon as much as possible - there are better cruising roads ....

But I shall slay her a few times during the week.....

...have fun, triple, and I'm sure you know that NC cops patrol that road for anything resembling speeding....watch out for them as much as for the cliffs!

I ride the Dragon often but avoid it at all costs on the weekends. Too many Isle of Man wannabe road racers riding way above their capabilities for my tastes. That being said, the Dragon is a great ride and you can scare the bajebers out of yourself on every other turn.

There are many great mountain roads in North Georgia, North Carolina and East Tennessee that are just as challenging without all the kamikaze traffic.

Have fun and be safe - and don't forget the QuikClot.

The dragon is serious.

There are some nutjobs on it on the weekends. Be careful!

Have a great time. That is a beautiful area you are going to. If you're bored take the kids over to Fontana Dam. It's pretty cool standing at the top looking down, then drive around and look up from the bottom.

Not sure how far you want to go but if you have a chance, ride the "snake" (421) from Boone NC to Bristol TN if you get a chance. Just a thought.

You can't pull that with that vehicle.

Have a great trip. Looks like a fun road, but I'll take the car.

A bit off topic but the "yellow wolf" is basically the king of the dragon, on a 1800 Honda Gold Wing. Listen to the boards scrape both on his bike and the photographer's bike. Sounds like sharpening knives. Sorry if a little off topic.

Now that I actually appreciate life - I no longer ride like a suicidal maniac as I did in my 20's....

Not that I dont twist the throttle a bit - but its a Harley - all bark and no bite ....
