Probably going to need more than a receipt for this.

The Tommy Nobis Foundation would be glad to get it. You might remember him, former NFL payer. His foundation does great work. I donated a boat several years ago. They will come pick it up and they are a 503C approved foundation. Give it a look.

OH YEA, the organization will send you a form AFTER THEY SELL IT and it will be for the amount they got

I just tell my clients to sell it on their own and then donate the cash money but some just do not want to fool with selling and I understand

Kind of a funny side note, not to get OT, but I had a client call me couple years back right at the end of the year and wanted to come see me. Well his church was going to build a social hall and he was going to donate $20K to them which I said was fine. Well he had in HIS mind that if he donated $20K to the church it was going to save him $20 on his taxes

Well I ran the numbers and told him approx how much it would save him in taxes. Keep in mind this was an African American, and he sat that and his quote to me was "Hell I am gonna keep my money and maybe give them a $1K like the rest of the NI**ERS THERE" I about pissed in my pants, he is a funny guy anyway

I told him no don't let me talk you out of it I just like you to know what you are doing, as I tell people give with your heart and take the tax benefits as a bonus and not as the reason you give. He told me he didn't like the folks at the church that much but they had led him to believe if he donated that much it would benefit him that much as well. SOMEBODY LIED LOL

Two things I have always told clients
1-NEVER NOT MAKE MONEY just because of taxes(there are some exceptions but not many)

2-NEVER GIVE ANYTHING AWAY because of taxes, donate with your heart and take the benefits as a bonus

Make A Wish

I donated a few of my old cars to them the past 6 months and it is great organization, my daughter was a recipient of a Wish from them.
I try and support them any way I can.

They'll come take it away....

With the FEMA trailers/formeldahide issues post Katrina, your trailer might not be wanted.
