Default Oil filter brand for diesel truck?

I own a ford powerstroke and have always done my own oil changes using mostly Fram or occasional NAPA filters.
It's my understanding that Purolator makes the motorcraft brand.
Just curious what most of you use on your diesel's and if you feel that the extra cost of the NAPA//WIX brand is worth it. Anyone ever use or heard of "Fleetguard"?
thanks!

I am a little cautious on oil filters for my Dodge. Cummins put out a list of approved oil filter models, which did not include Fram.

The best place I found to buy oil filters was from my local big truck store. check them out and what brands oil filters that International has approved. You may even find another brand that is convenient and cost effective.

BTW, fleetguard is all I use for oil filters and fuel filters.

If your powerstroke is still under warranty I would recomend staying with the Motorcraft filters, I have seen failure blamed on non Ford (Motorcraft) filters and warranty denied for the failure by Ford, I do work for a Ford truck dealer. If you are out of the 5year, 100,000 mile warranty use what you want, Fleetguard is a major brand for heavy truck engines, they are good, Purolator is also.

Never used anything but the Motorcraft.
The local Wally World keeps them in stock. $10.

Wally World Supertec oil and filter. Blackstone report looks as good as using Rotella or Motorcraft. Why pay more for the same results.

My father has 2 7.3 powerstoke powered trucks for his business, run Napa filters on them all just because they are available at the local parts stores where he has an account. Using them along with rotela for quite a few years and no oil related problems so far. Plenty of other issues have come up, mainly fuel injection and clutch related, but you should be fine with either the wix, OEM, or fleetguard, they are all good filters. My brother runs the amsoil filters on his along with the synthetic oil, but donesn't have nearly the miles that are on the work trucks, so it's too early to really make on call on them.

go to Filter1.com for your Wix filters. You'll save $$$.

Also, check out thedieselstop.com
or oilburners.net

Good luck with your powerstroke. My 6.0 PSD is treating me very good.
