Default Jet Ski Question

Just curious how many here have a jetski. I'm thinking of picking up another ski in the next couple of weeks. I'm leaning towards a Yamaha (larger 3 seat cruiser type), but would also consider a Sea Doo as I've had them in the past and have been pleased with their performance. Horsepower will be important as this will be my go fast toy. Please let me know what you have and if you've been happy with it.

We a Yamaha 1200 XLT (2003) and now that my kids are getting old enough to drive I'm actively looking for another one. It's in the shop right now for ethanol crapped up carbs an it's the first time it's ever been in the shop.

I've had 2 1200 Yamaha Wave Runners. They have the best hulls in the market. The racing pro's favor Yama's too. I you have the need to speed lean toward the yamaha

Lots of anti JS folks here form FL and so...so be prepared. many states allow rentals an dno licensing requirements. I think all major baands now are very competetive. Thye are all faster than you need and I would gues ryou can tgo wrong with yammies, Seadoo or Kwski - but have only been in this with my kids many moons ago

Have fun - go out with others and stay safe - like us all with larger vessles....stay away from other watercraft as much as possible.

There are a LOT of used seadoos with new motors.

That tells you something.

My private membership lake banned all PWC several years ago because many of them were acting like assholes. But prior to banning them, seemed like everyone had a Yamaha.

I have worked at a jet ski location where we rented 4 stroke sea doos.....Very easy maintenance.....if someone sucks something up its 4 bolts to take off the pump as opposed to 6 on yamaha and kawasaki.
My vote is with the sea doo. If you get something turbo or supercharged make sure you get the extended warranty, aspirating any of those those motors usually will end up with a problem.

The number one thing to remember is--make sure it's a lower hour ski if it is used.

Honda does not build Jet Ski anymore. I heard they might start again. I have a Polaris and a Honda.

Mensa test question #15:

a) All assholes ride Yamahas.
b) All Yamaha riders are assholes.
c) All jet-ski riders are assholes.
d) A determination can not be made with the information given.

I have an 05 seadoo and love it, only thing you need to look at is the supercharger. Have it serviced even when the seller says it's rebuilt.
The sc needs to be serviced every 100 hours or you will kill the motor.

So is it safe to assume you don't like jet ski's and yamahas?

I can answer any questions you may have. It all depends on how much you want to spend. The best waverunner is a yamaha, I have put over 1000+ hours on skis so far.
