Default Cool cars and bikes you have had in your life...

I suggest a trip down memory lane to revisit carefree youth and ponder the ones that got away.

Some of my highlights from 1968-1980.

1966 Pontiac GTO; or gas, tires and oil as my mom referred to it. Beautiful car and chick magnet, or so they say....

followed closely by,

1970 Datsun 240Z; #10 in my home town. purchased 7/70. Dude magnet.

1968 Shelby GT 350. A cockroach from over painting and some rusting but a blast to drive. Headturner.

1967 Sunbeam Alpine. A great project car I dragged out of a cornfield for $75 and restored. Chrysler connection. It had the gold pentagon symbol on the front 1/4 panel.

1970 Triumph TR 25W motorcycle. Terrible motor but had that cool british headlamp shake at idle. Had to watch for parts falling off when riding.* Shipped it cross country piece by piece and reassembled it in a shed behind my condo. Had to walk it thru the living room when finished, to get it out front.

1963 Dodge Dart wagon. Just for giggles, it had an electric rear window that amazed everyone. 3 on the tree, slant six, it moved.

1973 International 200 pickup. Somewhat rare model, last year for pickups. 345 V8 4bbl, twin tanks, 3/4 ton. It had a granny gear that would pull the devil outta hell with the doors closed. Finally died and was hauled away for $25

@ 19 . Baby blue 69 mustang
@ 21 Candle. 73 Custom Camaro
@ 24. Custom 55 Chevy I wish I had never sold. Bought it already fixed up. Red/orange,,black rolled insides. Even the dash was rolled.
@ 26 Bought the pro stock pinto race car. Kept it till age 36
Got out of cars for a while. Into fishing and boats.
@ 48 Ed Q rear end dragster
@ 50 Saturn Sky. Had it supercharged. > Still have
@ 53 Vette Supercharged Nitrous Meth > Still have
@ 55 Mike Bos Top Comp dragster. > Still have

Only had one bike worth mentioning ZL1000 back in early 30's but figured out bikes just were not my thing. I love power but also love AC , rocking stereo's and windshields. For the street anyway. Even though I'm a farm boy I never really cared about playing in the dirt. Working it was something different but having a toy to play in it never made the grade with me.

Cool? memory hazy on the exact model years and bought them all used but:

Late 60's Suzuki X6 racer converted back to street legal. Very light and very quick.

Early 60's Chevy Carry-All 2 door. Lived in that thing at one point, bought it from my dad: we used to have bunks in there when we went duck hunting.

Late 50's Plymouth Suburban Wagon, long and low, big fins, push button trans. What a sled. Still regret selling it.

62 (?) Mercedes 220SE coupe 4 speed. All wood dash; sweet straight 6. Babe magnet.

Lots of nice rides since those honeys, but none that cool.

72 SS Camaro shortly after going into service in '90.
Traded it for a 305 Monza..big mistake.
70 Torino 500.. ex lunched the motor.
79 big block bronco on 39" mickey thompsons... loved that truck but she ate parts like candy. My 20 year old foot didnt help.
'90 katana 750 at 20 years old in '92. Many points on my license, quickly.
"Son, you get 1 more moving violation, and we're revoking your license...for good."
Ditched the silly stuff for awhile...
Wised up... a little.
But still have my wifes' 89 formula firebird.
Also have a big block 78 F250.
Bikes I have now are a 96 BMW GS100PD (on/off road), a slightly warmed over 83 Suzuki GS1100, and a very original 65 BSA.

Forgot to mention my first car:

1964 Corvair. 4 speed and 1 x4 barrel on a manifold. Leaked oil constantly, spent the summer of '67 rebuilding it. Giant waste of time.

The '69 650 Bonneville is my dream bike.
