Default Our Departed

I would like to put forth a proposal.

I understand the implication associated with my proposal but with a base understanding I think it will work.

I would think in any family structure there are elements in place to remember those family members that have passed.

I have noticed a good number of our members here are on the senior side of the baby boomer age. Some of those members helped found this site and others have graced it and become respected members.

Recently a rather young THT family member passed away (God bless his soul). Tim was apart of our family and yet in time he will be a distant memory – and that is very sad.

What I am proposing is the creation of a cemetery forum. A place where our departed can always rest amongst us. As the years go by our children that carry this site into the future will have a true sense of belonging if we create this today.

THT has been the pioneers on many fronts and I think a memory board would be monumental in a very respectful positive way.

Don’t forget to cast your vote …. This is a poll.

Would it be a new board?
Something like a,
"R.I.P."
or
"Remember past members"
or something else?

I have a name in mind but I feel this site belongs to all who have paid money. Personally I would like to see the name put to a vote so we all have a say in one of our final resting places.

That is a good question. I guess really there is no way for us to really know if someone has passed or just moved on to another forum if we are strangers to each other.....but more times than not someone knows.

One could say to have a final resting place here on this site one would have to atleast befriend one person.......and that isn't all that bad now is it.

Right but something cool and nautical like, "Voyage Eternal" or "Forever at Sea".

I think this is a great idea.

Sounds like a pretty cool idea, I keep in touch with enough guys here that if something happened to me, someone would know.

Yeah, exactly.

Beside, just look at Tim's wife Babette, she informed this board.
I know my wife would call at least one of the people I call regularly here to inform them if not post on my behalf.

.....sometimes it's safer to hang out with the rif-raft and definitely a lot of times more fun.
