Default I won the Wyoming Lottery!

After three years of trying we drew Elk Tags. I'll be going to Cody this fall. It has been a long wait.

Since Cody is a little inconvenient to get to, I checked into chartering the very smallest jet. Turns out we can go round trip for only $37,000.00 dollars.

I looks as if it will take us 11 hours commercial for around $400.00 each. If anyone has any suggestions for how to get there from Eastern NC please chime in. I will probably fly out of Kinston. Two hours longer travel time than Raleigh (RDU), but the drive and the two hour check in before departure arrival negates that.

Scott

Scott:

Your best bet would be to fly into Billings, Montana and rent a car to drive to Cody. It's not very far and the roads will probably be pretty good. Certainly beats flying to Jackson Hole or Casper, from a time standpoint. Casper has flights with Northwest, United and Delta and is about 3 1/2 hours from Cody. If you decide to come through Casper, let me know and I would be happy to assist you in getting to Cody for your trip. You will be amazed by the area where you will be hunting, it truly is God's country.

SkyWest (Delta Connection) is the only carrier that goes into Cody..Its going to take two stops...but you can fly from Kinston ---> Atlanta ---> Salt Lake City ---> Cody on 1 airline. (Delta)

Congrats Scott.

If the Kinston flights don't suit you, Greenville is another alternative to RDU. At PGV, you can park 50 feet from the front door, and it's only another 50 feet to the gate. Need to arrive only 40 minutes or so before departure. US Air flights only (I think).

Fly commercial to the nearest large airport and charter something like a kingair or large piston twin from there to Cody. How many are going?

There will be three of us going.

I am thinking of taking Jalichty's suggestion. Flying to Billings and driving down. Travel time will be about the same but we will see new country and not sit in airports all day. I have a few months to nail down the best plan. Still haven't heard from the Guide - left a message last Friday. Once we set our dates I will be able to plan better.

Capt Rick, come on they have pricing for ride alongs. 4 people gets that private jet down to $9250.00 per seat!

Darn,I'll have to hock one of my rifles to afford the planes trip. Why don't we do it old fashion like, head out from Pittsburgh, Pa on a skiff, mules and muzzleloaders, we should be there around September. We can take THT stickers and drink coozies to trade as trinkets along the way.
Lewis, Clarke and Capt. Rick....has a ring to it don't it!
