Default Today Is The Last Day You Work For The Fed Govt

It is also, coincidentally, the day tax returns are due.

For working folks that pay fed income tax, today is the last day you are working for the govt. For this year, up until today, everything you made is/was/will be paid to the US govt as income tax. As of tomorrow you will be working for you ... unless you live where there is a state income tax, too. In that case you start working for your state. And for those that care about such things, this year we worked for the fed govt 4-days more than last year.

Here in "Conntaxicut" tax freedom day is actually well into May. Unless, of course, you are like Mint Romoney, in which case it was weeks ago.

Think about it! The amout of money you made from the 1st of Jan until today, is just about the amount of money you pay the gubment in income taxes. Here in Delaware, we have a fairly high state income tax, so now were working to pay them. When that's done, well...you know how it is... if it ain't one thing, it's six.

That doesn't begin to tell the whole story. Consider sales tax (@ 8%, if you have 200 days of income left for yourself, the gov will take 16 worth of those), and gas taxes (on top of sales tax, there are state and federal taxes), property tax (hard to quantify, but for many of us its not insubstantial -- and by the way, even if you rent, you pay it indirectly as your landlord absolutely passes it through), and death tax -- 55% of the money you earn and don't spend (above some limit) is going to the gov. There are all sorts of hidden taxes. Government is necessary and costs money, but probably 2/3 of the spending could be eliminated, IMO.

Of course then it appears he starts donating to different charities that in total BY FAR out weigh, even in percentage the amount of money most people end up giving to others wheter it be the government or charities.....but the liberal media doesn't focus on that, it might hurt the chosen ones chances of re-election.
