Godspeed my friend. Love your music.

How many legends can y'all pick out without googling it? He was a class act with a lot of support.

Terrible news. I'm a drummer, and he is the epitome of the drummer as a musician. I am very saddened by this news...

This sucks.

Please, Let's not put Buffett in the same category as Levon. Hell, Buffett will die of natural causes before prostate cancer overtakes him. Levon is one of my favorite entertainers.

I wore out the album, The Big Pink. Acadian Driftwood was epic. Sorry to see him go.

I booked the second weekend of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival months ago, and of the 100+ bands playing over those four days the one act I was most looking forward to was Levon Helm with Mavis Staples. Would have been my first time seeing him.

Read his book it gives a lot of insight on his upbringing and how The Band was shut down by Robby Robertson. Levon was a gem and his Rambles are what music should be.

The Brown Album was my 1st about 45 years ago. Have a 22 yr old son training to be an Opera Tenor. Can tell you everthing about Levon and The Band.
My first Newfoundland was named "Jemima" (Jemima Surrender).

Read the news this morning. Sad to hear.

In some ways, I'm surprised he fought this as long as he did. He's had cancer since the 1990's. I read his book about 5 years ago.....seems like an all-around good guy
